At approximately 9:15 a.m., after the peak of inbound morning traffic passed, the Defenders closed the entry control point on Vandenberg Drive to a single lane. In an instant, a calm situation turned chaotic when a person drove his car upwards of 80 miles an hour into the gate. Before ramming the gate, he hit a light post. At this moment, the Defenders reacted as if the person was seriously injured and immediately went to render first aid.
That was until the person got out of the vehicle brandishing a rifle.
The Defenders then went from first responders rendering aid to controlling a hostile situation. After a series of verbal commands, the suspect aimed the weapon at one of the Defenders with the intent to fire. And the Defenders reacted, containing the situation and ultimately stopping the suspect with deadly force.

There is no mention of the perp so its highly likely.
There was a report that some person rammed their vehicle into a gate at Ft. Meade, MD Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. What was that all about? Who was the perp? And how did it end up? Anybody know?

I read the whole story and there are very few words describing what actually happened. Somehow they stopped him “with deadly force”... I suppose they killed him somehow.
A report dated June 16 says he was identified as Larry McElroy. At the time he was reported in critical condition at a local hospital and later died. Other reports indicate he was a diagnosed schizophrenic with family members speculating his actions were intentionally suicidal.
Suicide by military. He got out of the car and aimed his rifle at security forces. Not a good way to say hello.
Years back, my son’s paintball buddy (Maryland Paintball Militia) joined the AF and went into the security police. He saw more than a little action while deployed in Afghanistan, defending facilities. Now he’s a Military and Law Enforcement Sales Manager at Quantico Tactical.
I bet..when I was in the AF didn’t take security too seriously..and that was during the Carter reign. I was in Turkey during the Iran Hostage sit.

This, along with the news about the attack on the French train hero in San Fran, makes me believe ISIS has given the signal to domestic sympathizers (who couldn’t get a visa to travel to Syria) to start lone wolf attacks here.
Of course, we won’t ever hear that from the media, at least not until there is a bloodbath they simply can’t cover up.
Mark Steyn reported today that isis has put out a call for fighters to “come join the caliphate and fight to defeat the infidels. And for those who can’t travel; kill where you are. Kill everybody!”
Let’s see if the MSM reports THAT. And since we know that they won’t; it’s up to us.
I do not believe THAT MAN said those words. My understanding is that he’s as big a twisted liberal on guns as Obunga is.

When my son was killed in Iraq, this kid popped up on my radar. Was volunteering up at Bethesda Naval hospital and another guy wounded on the truck ended up there. We took care of that, together.
Never met the fellow though we promise to get together. Calls me on all the anniversary dates. We just remember the boy and time is immaterial. Some day the time will be right.
