Can California Be Saved?

Crime is back up in California. Los Angeles reported a 20.6 percent increase in violent crimes over the first half of 2015 and nearly an 11 percent increase in property crimes.

Last year, cash-strapped California taxpayers voted for Proposition 47, which so far has let thousands of convicted criminals go free from prison and back onto the streets. Now the state may have to relearn what lawbreakers often do when let out of jail early.

If it weren’t for those inland from the coast, I’d say give it all back to the Mexicans. Eventually, it is going to become “too big to fail” and the rest of this country will be holding the bag for their state government’s liberal idiocy.

Can California Be Saved?

Not without much "weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth."

California's problem is mental, and caused by too much wealth too easily acquired. It is a victim of "Rich Man's disease."

The people let out of jail early can’t get employed because of the criminal record or a lack of skills and either live off of us, their family or the street.
Lawsuits against employers for the liability of hiring an ex con make it impossible to hire them unless you are related.

There was an old saying: “When the continent tilts, everything loose ends up in California. Crazies tend to migrate to California. Now they are in a clear majority.

I heard it a little differently. "When the continent tilts, every loose nut rolls into California."

California is the “Ground Central” of the Pro-Choice world. Well, it is readily apparent that today’s state of affairs in this is the CHOICE they have made.
Good luck to them. May they be kept safe and far away from me!!!

And California will continue this way until the quality of the California GOP “opposition” improves. I do not mean become more right wing, I mean quality. The only way my Rep will meet with you is if you pay money (aka fundraising dinner) or join a conference call. Why should I vote for him?

I really can’t believe that the left leaning CBS would permit such a damning portrayal to be broadcast

Believe it or not, they can't make the connection between the policies and ideas in which they believe, and the disasters caused by such policies.

Their is a disconnect in their minds. They see the causes as being from not enough of their policies and ideas.

I view California like I do Africa.

Mismanaged and stolen resources, criminal regimes.

Beyond saving.

California is a very large version of Detroit, but with much better weather. Give it another 20 years on its present course, or merely another severe recession, and the state will be bankrupt.

No. That’s why 15 counties have either declared their desire to form the State of Jefferson or are showing interest in doing so.

CA gets huge revenues through oil, gas, vacationers, Indian casinos and the service industry.
We have over a third of all welfare in the country in this state. I bet we have a third or more of all the illegals and the burden of their anchor babies that in education alone cost this country at least 200 billion a year.

Giant state government unions with pensions due to be defaulted on.
My city workers I read (900 of them), have on average a 3.5 million dollar retirement package.
WTF I pay lots of taxes and no one has a 3.5 million dollar retirement package aside for me. How come those serving on my tax dollar do better than those paying the taxes? Corruption for money laundering to the DNC and growing big government IMO.
