A day after his campaign slashed staff and salaries to retrench ahead of the Iowa caucuses, Jeb Bush decried the toxic tone of the presidential race and suggesting that “demonizing” people isn’t what he signed up for in this campaign.
Mr. Bush made the remarks at a town hall in South Carolina, where, according to a report by CNN, he seemed fired up about taking on the person who has overshadowed him during the campaign, Donald J. Trump, who is leading most Republican polls so far.
“If this election is about how we’re going to fight to get nothing done,” Mr. Bush said, then “I don’t want any part of it. I don’t want to be elected president to sit around and see gridlock just become so dominant that people literally are in decline in their lives. That is not my motivation.”
He added, “I’ve got a lot of really cool things I could do other than sit around, being miserable, listening to people demonize me and me feeling compelled to demonize them. That is a joke. Elect Trump if you want that.”

Which is EXACTLY why Yeb would have been slaughtered running against Hillary, because all of Jeb’s TV ads would simly “make nice”, just like McCain and Romney TV ads.
I can’t wait to see the Trump TV ads come out nuclear against the the lying, corrupt, traitor Hillary.
Well, if he’s upset now, imagine how upset he’s going to be if he gets the nomination and finds out that a lot of Republicans won’t vote for him. He’s got a real mess on his hands.

I figured he would whine & moan to them a little bit- ask what he should do, maybe (which is pathetic enough, but at least it’d be private), but i didn’t think he’d be so public about it. I hate ugly scenes. smh

Oh what I would give to have been in Tim Scott’s seat and responded with, “Oh yeah, like what? What would you be doing that would be ‘cooler’ than running for President!”
No intention of backing Jeb or voting for him, but he’s right on this. I’m tired of the inter-tribal trash talk, too, and we’re still a year out.
Insults and a certain amount of negativity is standard and understandable. I think that what bothers me this year is the tone. If someone is going to poke the opposition, can he at least be witty, or smart, or articulate?
So far, the barbs have sounded more like a 7th grade girl fight.
Let’s face it: Jeb is not presidential timber.
Not if he needs mommy and daddy’s help to bail out his tanking campaign.
Mike Murphy and Heather Larrison are a textbook case on how NOT to manage a campaign.
Spending like a drunken sailor is not the key to victory.
Its rich to hear Jeb whine how he’s the butt of SNL jokes.
Seriously, its about time for him to mail it in and close up shop.
