Tonight, the Republican candidates for President will debate in Boulder, Colorado. Millions of people are expected to watch, and ratings will break records thanks to Donald Trump.

But Rev. Franklin Graham, the son of famous Rev. Billy Graham, just reminded us what is REALLY important about the debate tonight: America, as a nation, must turn our hearts to the Almighty God.

No matter who wins the GOP nomination, remembering the Christian principles of American’s founding is essential. Rev. Graham reminded us of Psalm 86:5, which says, “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.”

This post from Rev. Graham is going viral! This is incredible…

Think for a moment how great this nation could be if everyone knew and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my rock and my salvation.

Those of us who were aware before the 1960’s have a dim memory of what a religious ... if not Christian ... society was like

CNBC, host of the third Republican debate, will make a stream available on CNBC.com
and on the network’s mobile apps — but a cable login will be required to tune in.

I tell you what some FReepers told me when I said I wanted a devoted Christian as our next President:"Jimmy Carter was a Christian President and look what that got us."

First you have to actually win.

When Christians figure that out, and realize it takes more than prayer circles and voting for candidates for something other than sentimental reasons, then there might be a chance.

Until then they can just get used to losing.

I remember the part religion played in society in the 50"s. We prayed in school every morning and listened to a bible verse. We memorized Psalm 100 and Psalm 24 among others. We even sang religious songs in school at Christmas.

Almost everyone in our town attended one church or another on Sunday. The Lutheran church I grew up in had an average attendance on a Sunday morning of 300. Today they barely get 40. I could go on and on but suffice it to say I consider myself fortunate to have grown up in that time...

Setting aside the nature of the Graham statement, because I think we all agree it was a very good one, let’s look at election dynamics.

Does this add to Carson’s support?

While I like the idea of Graham saying what he did, I honestly think it would be better for Christians in this nation if Trump were elected.

There are things going on today that we either put an end to, or our nation will fall.

Trump is the guy that grasps that.

I do not think that is true when it comes to Carson.

If Graham’s words were to get Carson nominated, I think it would be very unfortunate.

Christians can sometimes be helped more by a good honest Philistine, when it’s own government is corrupt.
