Good for Trump!
Everybody carol at the Freedom from Religion Foundation this Christmas Eve and bring ‘em a few presents...: )
HOORAY Trump
I always say MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone during the Holidays. Always have done it always will and people tell me Merry Christmas back, even though Im Jewish I dont mind, I actually enjoy it it brings me into the spirit of the holiday season
Geez. Trump is defending Christians better than the Pope nowadays.
I am all for saying Merry Christmas but I don’t see it as a war on Christmas as in the 50’s and 60’s many stores put Happy Holidays and nobody thought to complain about it.
MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!! A special gift from ‘The Donald’ to us!!!
Pass that popcorn!
I’m sorry, but the garbage characters in these posts in the last few days is really getting to be a pain. BFAC, I know that this is not just you, but several posts. Does anyone know what is going on? Is this part of the recent “FR attack site” business?
Merry CHRISTmas!!
“I will assault that”, Trump said. “I will go so strongly against so many things, when they take away the word, “Christmas.”
That sentence means nothing.
Go Trump Go!
It will be interesting to see how Trump handles the Christmas issue with Carson. I think trump was setting up for it when he said he “just doesn’t know about Seventh Day Adventists”.
SDA’s don’t celebrate Christmas, so when Trump asks Carson what he is doing for Christmas, it will bring the issue to the fore.
Who’s the guy who made videos several years in a row, where he would go through his junk mail, tossing all the items that said “holiday” or “holidays” in the trash. “Merry Tossmas!”
How can a retail store be sued for having signs which say Merry Christmas or playing Christmas Carols or for their employees saying Merry Christmas?
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Look forward to roasting some of those prized chest-nuts on that open fire.
One way to look at this...if many of your friends and family are libs, there is no need for last minute gift shopping, Christmas Card lists, or even a Christmas dinner. They keep this up and there will be few holidays to gather round the table. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter...if they don’t believe who are we to include them in our heritage and customs.
I agree there is a serious assault against Christianity by the Left and by mohammedans. Interestingly, I looked at lots of old greeting cards and memorabilia from the turn of the century and earlier. I did not see a preponderance of Merry Christmas, in fact, season’s greetings and happy holidays were common. However it should be noted that references to God and prayer were common in everyday talk and in the public square. So there was no need to reinforce that at Christmas. Everyone knew the Reason for the Season. IMHO.
While I don't like the whole "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings" replacing "Merry Christmas" and the whole PC (Communist) strangulation of language and expression and of Christianity and of American culture and tradition, it is also not the President's job nor within his (or Congress's) Constitutionally proscribed duties to mandate what private companies use in their ads or instruct their employees to say or not say while on company time. And while on company time, is an important distinction.
But the big unanswered question is; so what exactly is Trump going to do in this respect? Sign some sort of Executive Order mandating that all stores; in their ads and that all their employees must say Merry Christmas? Will the phrase Happy Holidays be made illegal? Will companies be fined for using it? What government agency will Trump deem to enforce it? The DOL? The FCC? The IRS?
Will Trump force Jewish Kosher delis and grocery stores to put up signs in December saying "Merry Christmas" and force their employees to say it to all their Jewish and non-Jewish customers alike? What about the Buddhist run Yoga studio or the Wiccan bookstore, the Muslim grocery store? All stores? Really?
FWIW - Trump is also a bit of a hypocrite:
Maybe Trump will say "you're fired" to the person responsible or just blame it on an intern? / s
Can anyone point me to a example of one of these lawsuits a retailer has lost?
