Donald Trump's Boycott of Starbucks Over Red Cups; Starbucks Responds
The Christian Post ^ | 11/10/2015 | Leonardo Blair

Billionaire 2016 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump waded into coffee giant Starbucks' alleged war on Christmas Monday when he suggested a boycott of the company over its controversial red holiday cups, but the company says there is no war.

"Did you read about Starbucks?" Trump asked a crowd of about 10,200 during a rally at a convention center in Springfield, Illinois, on Monday evening.

"No more 'Merry Christmas' at Starbucks. No more," he said as the crowd booed disapprovingly at his comments. "I wouldn't buy. Hey look, I'm speaking against myself. I have one of the most successful Starbucks in Trump Tower," he continued. "Maybe we should boycott Starbucks, I don't know. Seriously," he added to cheers. "I don't care. By the way: That's the end of that lease. But who cares? Who cares? Who cares?!"

Trump then hit the crowd with this promise: "If I become president, we're all going to be saying 'Merry Christmas' again. That I can tell you. That I can tell you! Unbelievable."

Looks like Trump is polling really well post-debate.
Good to see that my thinking is winning.

Well said.

And I hate to say this. But I will speak my mind and I will speak truth as I see it.

I think Donald Trump has such a hold on the minds of people that if he says they need to be outraged without actually investigating themselves whether or not there is reason to be.

Christ also warned that in the last days there would be a lot of people claiming to be Christian who are deceivers. I think perhaps this Internet guy is who we need to dig into.

That should read that they will be outraged because Donald Trump tell them they need to be and they don’t even look into matters for themselves.

Hopefully one day he will join us on the really big issues such as Kim Davis. One day hopefully his faith and the fruits of the Holy Spirit will be so evident that he will no longer need to insist to everyone that he is a Christian. That will be a great time to cheer him on.

Yes, got to be right, can’t argue with your logic there, it’s proven: everything you’re thinking is winning. Yuuuge win.

Who?

Sooooo.. not promoting this unknown Davis chick makes someone un-Christian?

Check yourself, Pastorini.

I notice for someone who is seemingly so soft spoken, you’re always remarkably quick to make snap judgments about people on here.

But perhaps that fault is also partially mine when I’m typing or speaking things quickly on my phone.

I can’t imagine, or find it hard to imagine there are many people here unfamiliar with the Rowan County, Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, who was only jailed for a time for being in contempt after refusing to issue “gay marriage licenses”.

But maybe you’re one of the few who is unfamiliar.

But the second part you chose to highlight didn’t have a thing to do with Kim Davis.

I don’t KNOW if Donald Trump is a committed, saved Christian or not. As a talk show host and former pastor here in Ohio has said, it’s hard to say that he is when judging by the fruits. Those fruits, most Christians point to Galatians 5:22-23 to find and identify.

Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,”

Galatians 5:23 “Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Now, at times Donald Trump will perhaps show some of them. And we’re all works in progress without a doubt. And again I’ll say there are those who know him who say there’s a different private Donald Trump vs. the public Donald Trump.

But mainly what I was trying to point out is I’ve read over and over again Donald Trump making a big deal about carrying a bible, and carrying pictures of him as a kid in church and saying over and over again, “People are surprised and don’t believe that I’m a Christian.”

Well if people are surprised and don’t believe he’s a Christian, there has to be a reason for that. Some of it could be ignorance of who Donald Trump is and what he believes. Some of it could be his own mouth getting in the way when he attacks someone, even if it is a “counter punch”.

All I was saying is that if there ever comes a time in which people can look at Donald Trump and KNOW that he is a Christian, because it would be evident in his demeanor, mannerisms, and so forth THAT would be something to cheer.

Horrible coffee...McDonald’s has a better cup for less. Then again I make it at home in the drip for pennies and it tastes better than both

So why boycott? They are out of business. Right?

Thank you. Sadly, I actually gave this guy “credit”, albeit in passing, as he tried to order an “antigay” cake and was declined and posted a video to show the hypocrisy. Which, it was hypocrisy and that’s why I shared the story. If I remember right, I did make mention that I didn’t know this Feuerstein guy at all and wasn’t trying to vouch for him as an individual.

In reading a little more about him, it seems like he’s driven by money and fame, and nothing more, sadly. Allegedly he asked for viewers to send him money to buy a $20,000 camera to make videos, and they sent him the money but he never bought the camera.

He truly does seem to be merely trying to buy in to and profit or enrich himself from issues that concern Christians and conservatives. To me, it seems like he’s manipulating those who buy into his spiel.

And it seems like Donald Trump bought into this- which admittedly, he was far from the only one to do so.

Disagree. Small things like this without any challenges can continue to lead us into a God-less nation

Small things like taking snowflakes off a paper coffee cup? Those snowflakes were keeping us a Godly nation?

I'm with Governor Palin - this is a nonsensical issue. And too many conservatives have been suckered into fighting a really stupid fight, one that we all lose by default.

You’re right. Which is dangerous power in the hands of a man who’s shown that he’ll pander to anyone.

Thanks for your reply.

The guy does seem to be a shyster. There are so many and these days everything moves so fast, folks get caught up and manipulated; happens a lot...

I do expect candidates for president to be more careful to vet their sources.

appreciate your posts...

Yes, this is what passes for a substantive argument from Trump supporters.

Sad. Not particularly surprising - they get it right from their insecure and blustery candidate - but still sad.

No they don’t but I abide by our laws, so I will Boycott McD’s, food is not that good either.

Why should a reward such a left wing company with my $$ to put forward more of their LIBTARD LYING BS?

I feel the same way about CHRISTmas, If you can’t call It CHRISTMAS then you don’t need my money.

You should forward that to Donald; he does have a tendency to blurt out a lot of things, including his foolishness.
