Mass exodus! U.S. doctors fleeing medicine

Mountains of Obamacare-related paperwork and the threats of severe fines for the slightest errors are forcing many doctors to retire and others to shut down their practices and work under the protection of hospitals, and all of it spells bad news for patients.

Galen Institute President Grace-Marie Turner says the exodus is alarming, as evidenced by a Physicians Foundation report showing the number of doctors who say they run an independent practice has dropped from 62 percent in 2008 to 35 percent in 2014. The survey of 20,000 physicians also shows only 17 percent in solo practice. Eighty-one percent of doctors are at full capacity or even overextended. Forty-six percent grade Obamacare as a D or an F. Just 25 percent give the law an A or a B.

For those greatly frustrated by the system, Turner said the government is making their lives miserable.

Dr. Ciampi is doing just fine, my doctor in Maine is also doing the same thing. He’s a great guy and a conservative. We pay him about 150.00 per month for instant access, a myriad of services covered under that 150.00, and no rush in/rush out appointments. Each time we see him we get about an hour! of his time.

This combined with a healthcare sharing ministry is a great option. About 600.00 monthly for a family of 3.

If we don’t stop illegal immigration none of the rest of it matters.

Plus more time for the accountant and more time for the lawyer...”

So true. Both them have powerful lobbying groups. Lots of attorneys in Congress - pretty obvious that there are no accountants, however.

Not just affirmation action D grade doctors but imported foreign doctors. Who have trouble speaking and understanding ENGLISH.

That said, several of my doctors are foreign, they all speak good ENGLISH, and they do better than my old fired PRIMARY who was 100% white American, D grade doctor. Which is why I fired his butt. Inept I don’t accept. Make mistakes I won’t accept. OD’ on a med and your gone.

Found a great new Primary 100% white American, had him 4 years, now he’s going out of practice due to health issues. So I’m looking for a new Primary. First interview is Dec 1. Day after I see the Cardio for a BP med for my enlarged heart.

No problemo when you have a POTUS like The One.
The One can executive order all the muzzie doctor immigrants that America needs just like his fellow muzzie Dr. Nidal Hasan.
I'm sure The One will not fail to encourage them to dial the workplace violence back a bit, though.

I learned about health shares from people here on FR. There are other FReepers using Liberty. And probably a lot of them using the Christian specific health shares too. You could post a vanity asking FReepers about their experiences with health shares.

It doesn’t look like they cover any drugs for more than a few months. Pre-existing conditions are gradually covered, from nothing in the first year to fully covered after four.

I don’t know anything about those codes but I suspect it may be similar to what I went through over thirty years ago with an employer. I worked as a tech rep and we had to fill out a service report on every call using a ball point pen on a printed multi-part form. Generally the form could be completed in less than five minutes. Some genius got the idea that we needed to use codes and a new form which required the codes be entered with a number two graphite pencil. By the time you looked up all the necessary code numbers it could easily take forty five minutes to fill out one form, they finally gave it up until some years later new technology was available so the info could be entered into a computer by phone modem. By then I had started my own business in competition with them.

I never figured out why they ever thought for one minute that system would work, it depended on optical character recognition and required that each number of a code be entered perfectly with a pencil, each number in its own tiny block, perfectly shaped, not touching the outer lines of the block, not too small, not too light and they expected this from a bunch of techs who, in many cases, could not even write legibly. They were hired for their ability to diagnose a problem quickly and fix it quickly, not for their graphic artistry. My handwriting is atrocious but ironically I was one of the best at filling out those forms because I had given up on cursive and block printed everything so that it could be read.

If we don't stop illegal immigration none of the rest of it matters.

True, but it's not the only thing where if we lose it we are done.

For decades before illegal immigration, single payor was THE path to permanent progressive rule. If they control your and your family's health you can't fight them. You have to block the left on BOTH fronts or we're done. Ignoring healthcare is Romney tactics, leaving tons of votes on the table. Which candidates are good enough, doesn't have to be perfect, on BOTH. Perfect on either, but fail on other, bye, we can't afford you.
