Michigan Governor Snyder Suspending Flow of Syrian Refugees into the State

It's being reported that at least two of the Paris terrorists were refugees from Syria.

Clearly, those in charge are not doing the proper vetting necessary in order to keep the bad guys out , and it makes it all the more scary knowing that the U.S. will be accepting hundreds of thousands of refugees in the near future.

Thankfully, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (a Republican, obviously) is halting the flow of refugees into his state.

Other governors around the nation, take notice!

From Fox 17:

Following Friday's deadly terrorist attacks in Paris linked to ISIS, Gov. Rick Snyder said he's made the decision to suspend efforts to bring Syrian refugees to Michigan.

While acknowledging the state's "rich history of immigration" Snyder said the first priority needs to be PROTECTING the safety of the state's residents.

"Given the terrible situation in Paris, I've directed that we put on hold our efforts to accept new refugees until the U.S. Department of Homeland Security completes a full review of security clearances and procedures," Snyder said in a statement released to media Sunday.

No explanation necessary, Governor.

We all understand what is going on around the world in terms of terror, and it is incredible that someone is finally willing to go against Barack Obama and take a stand.

What's interesting is that Snyder initially "expressed support and interest in working with the federal government to accept refugees fleeing a war-torn Syria in the Middle East," but after Paris, things changed – rightfully so.

I think they should treat refugees like refugees.

Build a refugee camp. Fence it off and give them room to have their own schools, and armories, errr excuse me, I meant mosque and to grow their own vegetables and have recreational space.

They stay in the camp until the political situation in Syria calms down then they get sent back.

Sadly, this is Michigan.

There is already a cockroach infestation in Dearborne.

Spraying outside the walls without fumigating is pretty pointless but looks good.

I wonder how he thinks he can restrict them? I know that here in TX when the gov opened the floodgates to illegals, some of the camps in my County contracted w/ the criminals from organizations like Baptist Children and Family Services, and Catholic Charities to house them. Not even our County Sheriff or any law enforcement here knew about it.

These organizations get millions of taxpayer dollars, and are quite willing to keep complete secrecy of where they stick these people. The money is more important to them than the safety of American lives.

Actually in many ways I am a refugee.

Obama’s IRS has built upon the problems started by the Bush 43 and Clinton administrations. I can no longer get a job in my adopted hometown of Hong Kong because US citizens can’t get bank account.

My Chinese national wife lives in HK and I live on Guam. We must keep our finances completely separate because of the draconian US business tax laws. Because she cannot be on US soil for more than 30 days without coming under US tax laws I go to HK to see her and for medical issues and she sometimes come here for weekends. But excessive traveling back and forth between the same cities makes us target for the INS and their drug sniffing dogs.

I cannot vote for president since Guam is not a State but I have a real interest in seeing the Trump, Cruz, Carson or Fiorina tax plan become law. We’d like to expand our commercial property management business into the US. It is amazing how many jobs the US business tax code kill.

BTW Guam is a low tax but high cost of living place. It is strange that a Democratic leaning place is this rational on taxes. No sales tax, no real property tax and all US Federal income taxes stay on island so the IRS scandals are all local.

If Jindal had taken the lead here he could have leaped in the polls. Instead he wanted to talk with Obama as if that ever did anyone any good. Following Michigan is not the same as leading the way.

Rick Snyder was for it BIG TIME, before he was against it. His change does not cut slack from me. He is RINO scum governor who wanted to inflict on our state 10000 un-vetted, undocumented Syrian infiltrators.

Snyder you are dog sh!t to me.

Anyone with a brain knew a Paris-like attack was coming... and so there shouldn’t be a need for anyone to change a position in its aftermath unless one was clueless from the start.

Smart governor. They aren’t all smart.

Someone on Fox said how does one trust the vetting, do you coordinate with Syria? Just ask them if they are terrorists? Where is the authority source that would tell you whether the guy standing there is a legit refugee or a terrorist?

Sorry, mrefugees, but actions have consequences. People from your area are out to trick and murder us all, We cannot be too careful.
