Those poor Chicken Hawks are going to have to use something like this as their new logo unless they want to start a fight with PETA and the Sierra Club.
The Audubon Society has raised objections..
The Chicken Hawks or Fighting Noodles would work.
When’s Illinois changing theirs?
Finally, I can sleep now.
When will “Sioux City Sue” be changed to “Hawk City Sue”?
In relation to the story at Princeton, too bad North Dakota didn’t become the Fighting Woodrows.
Whatever. Not worth getting sued & scalped by the Sioux.
Bttt
The Stupidity Society, has raised many objections. The Honorable Foghorn Leghorn is their ESQ., by record. Care to enjoin? The first prima facsimile, is that the Siouxan people are not enjoined to say anything, about any bullshit the after-market indigenous- have to say about anything, anywhere, or anytime.
Doesnt the term, fighting, offend anybody?
More like the Weeping Squaws.
I just don’t get it!
I have always thought that sports teams were named after things closely related to native American tribes, customs and artifacts as a form of respect.
I guess I’m just an old fart who is too stupid to discern the horrific disrespect on display when someone names a sports team after something they see as powerful and honorable...like for instance “The Atlanta Braves” Who knew that they were actually trying to poke fun at native Americans?
After the events in Paris on 11/13, I will be adding
this to my posts for the next week. I'm certain our
turn is coming again soon. We stand united against
Islamic extremists.
Some music for reflection if the mood strikes you.

An honorable mention also goes out to Lassana Bathily , a Muslim immigrant from Mali.
Mr. Bathily sheltered customers at the Jewish Deli and helped police by providing info
on the terrorists, and providing the location of survivors in the deli.

What will be the new name for those wimps formally known as the University of Missouri Tigers?
Should have changed it to something more appropriate like the “Wusses.”
I know someone named Siouxzie. Guess she will have to change her racially insensitive name to Hawkzie or something equally stupid.
The more I think about it, the more I see the wisdom.
If the indians want to obliterate anything that paints them in a positive light, so be it. We will forget them entirely. Or just remember them when one goes off rez with a dwinor drug/alcohol problem.
So be it. Their choice.
Being as I went to UND, I don’t care what they chose, they will always be the Fighting Sioux to me. I am glad they did not choose Roughriders, as the local Red River high school has that name.
About all they got right was that the NCAA insisted (as in litiguous insistence) that the name and logo be dropped. The logo of the Sioux Brave was the artwork of Bennett Brien, a Turtle Mountain Chippewa artist, and approved by the Spirit Lake Sioux Tribe.
In short, the Native Americans generally were not offended, only the NCAA, who took up the torch against the logo and name.
After years of fighting, the NCAA finally imposed its cultural values on both the school, and a warrior culture which wasn't offended.
I guess they condescendingly thought the Tribes in North Dakota just were not bright enough to be offended for themselves, and that is the one real demeaning element in the whole charade.
The Hawk Preservation Society is all aflutter and squawking with rage.
Won't Chief Red Hawk be offended? Isn't this a form of microaggression against everybody named Hawk?
I was hoping for the “Whining Snowflakes”.
