A friend of mine just tried killing herself tonight. She's in the emergency room and we're still waiting for news. Her name is Kylie and prayers are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Oh dear, that is very bad. I’m glad she did not succeed and I hope she’ll be OK. Prayers being sent for you and your friend and her family. Been there, it stinks.

Prayers for Kylie - may God grant the doctors wisdom, and heal Kylie’s body, spirit and mind. Is she a fellow student? Getting to the end of the quarter and it gets tough. Thank God that she has friends like you. You hang in there too.
Her parents are 2 states away. I can’t really fault them for this.

Yeah, she lives in my dorm residence hall. I’ve only known her for about 10 weeks, but I care for her. Thanks so much for the encouragement. I haven’t been able to sleep.
Prayers for you and your tribe. Try to stay focused on the school work (yes it is still important), and make time to visit Kylie if she makes it. She’ll need you and the rest. Even if you don’t know her that well, she’ll need an extra prayer warrior on her side.

It’s possible she can turn her life around now.
Suicides just don’t realize that being unsucessful
creates a lot of immediate consequences they hadn’t
considered before.

Prayers are out for Kylie. As someone who formerly lived with a mentally ill spouse, I want to point out that the hardest part is yet to come if she survives. The school and her parents will want her to drop out and go home where she will subjected to psychological battering. She will feel deserted and branded with the stigma of having attempted suicide, even more so that she failed. Friends like you will be two states away and unable to offer support to the degree needed. While we have no idea as to her circumstances (breakup with boyfriend, parental divorce, etc.), I would advise those of you who care for her to pray that she finds the right therapist and/or God.

That’s a blessing that she made it to the ER. And may God hold her in his grace.
My wife of 18 years killed herself in our car running. It was her third attempt. She was in a mental hospital twice for 6 weeks. When she was released, a day later committed suicide. I found out from a nurse at Swift and Co. that they drugged her with an extreme amount of Lithium she couldn’t think straight.
Its a serious call for help and needs constant guidance. My kids were 5, 11 and 14. It’s left and indelible mark on us to this day for 35 years. God bless you and seek the best help you can get.
