onald Trump is back in the lead in Iowa. According to a new CBS News poll, 30% of Republicans in the state now support him.
Ben Carson, who was tied with Trump a month ago, has slipped to third.
The terrorist attacks in Paris appear to be the reason. Conservatives are looking for candidates who show the knowledge, passion, and determination to destroy ISIS. Carson, a friendly, upright man, is not a conservative powerhouse, and his knowledge and moral clarity about foreign policy does not compare with the two candidates now ahead of him.
Trump is not an expert either, but he leaves no questions regarding his intentions for ISIS. He is determined to crush the terror group, he knows that overwhelming military force is the only option, and he has shown no interest in playing games with the media over political correctness -- over feelings -- when discussing homeland security.
Conservative voters are obviously prioritizing this issue, as Cruz's rise in Iowa is accompanied by the finding that they have even more confidence in Cruz then in Trump as a future commander-in-chief:
While Iowa's Republicans generally feel Trump is ready to be commander-in-chief, Cruz scores even better on this measure, boosted by support from very conservative and Tea Party Iowans who feel he is ready to assume the post. That's more than say so about Trump, Carson, Rubio and Jeb Bush.

Trump is going to win NH and SC easily. If he gets Iowa out of the chute, the race is over almost before it starts.
in the past maybe, but the RNC stacked the deck and made tons of state that were proportional, winner take all (to help Jeb) but now it will come back to bite them when Trump takes ALL the delegates in those states. Florida in particular. When Trump wins Florida and gets ALL the delegates, this is over.

Now you go be happy! I love you!
“Trump and Cruz need to make a deal. One has to bow out before itâs too late, so itâs a fair fight between the GOPe and conservatives. “
Agreed. But they need to make a deal to be on the same ticket.
Love it, Bushbacker1. BUT betcha’ if it is Cruz, the Dems will get demonic about his being born in Canada, with a Cuban father, and there have been unverified rumors his American born mother had taken Canadian citizenship. Cruz himself only gave up his dual nationality (Canadian citizenship) in 2014. It troubles me because he is such a good candidate and Cruz and Trump are my favorites.
Who cares? Your obsession with this is a bigger PITA than the guys you’re criticizing.
‘’He [Donald Trump] is determined to crush the terror group [ISIS], he knows that overwhelming military force is the only option,...’’
That’s also a description of Vladimir Putin, who is already using overwhelming military force to destroy ISIS. And now even minor European countries like Belgium are getting deadly serious about taking out Islamic terrorists.
If the Western world survives, it will be because of the leadership of Vladimir Putin and the Russians, and the U.S. will be relegated to a second-rate status.
However, instead of facing this reality, Donald Trump has been glorified into a savior of America who will lead us into a promised land of greatness, even though by the time he would be inaugurated, America will have been either destroyed by ISIS or destroyed as a major power by the ascension of mighty Russia which will have conquered ISIS.

My "obsession" with this isn't driving traffic to my blog, is it?
