The confidence to engage rather than avoid.
This video has been around since July. I had heard about it, but never watched it. I’m not sure how, but I stumbled upon it last night.
In the video, Ted Cruz’s rally opposing the Iran nuclear deal was interrupted by Medea Benjamin and other Code Pink protesters.
Cruz could have reacted many ways. He could have shouted down the people shouting him down. He could have insulted them. He could have had security push them away.
But instead, he engaged. That’s what was important to me. The confidence to engage rather than avoid. Standing face to face with hostile protesters was very Andrew Breitbart-like.
When you watch this video, forget who won the argument, but focus on Cruz’s willingness to debate the leader of Code Pink, someone used to grabbing the spotlight. Cruz reduced Benjamin to a sideshow rather than center stage. It’s almost as if she was not there.
For me, watching it was a Ted Cruz moment.

It’s seeing Ted debate useful idiots like code pink that has won my vote for him. Even Rush knows Ted would make the best President. I’ll vote for Trump if he gets the nomination, but Ted Cruz gets my cash, and my primary, and hopefully Presidential votes.
The past few years, Cruz has been a literal “Mr. Smith goes to Washington”, except the occupants in DC are now pure vermin. The cess pool needs to be drained, and it needs to be drained fast. It would be interesting to see how Capra would have viewed congress in this day.
Ted is the man, always polite always professional and when they snipe at him he never ducks, He says “lets dance”

Ted Cruz voted to give the Sultan in Washington plenary powers to construct the Iran giveaway deal unhindered. He did the same for the Trade deal.

Well not really...if a candidate can get on the peoples level by engaging them either by word or emotions then he’s off to a good start.....but if he can’t carry his own during a debate this will throw the voters to one who can.
Measured responses will always win out over the unhinged....when it comes down to the actual voting.
