For a moment there, it looked like John Heilemann might go Absolut Olbermann and call Donald Trump a "fascist" for his proposal which would for the time being bar the entry of all Muslims into the United States.
But Heilemann backed off that f-word. While noting "some will say fascist" about Trump or his policy, Heilemann declared "I'm not saying that." Instead, he settled for asserting that there are "many voters in the country who are in fact reactionary" and that there is no way to describe Trump's policy "other than reactionary."

If the loved ones of those killed by Islamic terrorists in America expressed the wish that such a ban had been in place, would Heilemann call them “reactionaries” to their face?

They called a man in SB whose last dying act was to protect a co-worker “just as bad” as the cockroaches who shot everyone because he was an evangelical (per his widow who was on Sean’s show).
Any hard name... any criticism ... any hatred... aim it at obama.. he’s the architect of all this mess... ALL of it. He’s set us up for attacks and he’s joining the enemy in it. still congress and the media defend him and hit on us. Makes me angry and makes Trump’s numbers go up... I don’t know what we’d do if only the GOP had candidates running.

Depends on what is being reacted against.
Reaction implies defensive response, then mounting a counterattack.
Nothing more, nothing less. the Islamic Caliphate is not necessarily a good thing for the vast majority of people on this planet.

Sure, it is better to be pro-active, but we are long past that phase. We should have been in reactionary mode since 9/11/2001.
Pro-active would have started years earlier (when someone first cracked open the Koran and observed, ...'Say, this guys are nuts. They bring nothing but murder and mayhem in their wake...').
