Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz said Monday he does not support banning all Muslims from entering the country, distancing himself from an inflammatory proposal by rival Donald Trump.
Earlier Monday, the billionaire frontrunner for the GOP nomination called for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on." Cruz weighed in on the proposal while campaigning in South Carolina, where he was asked if he would support a policy barring Muslims from coming into the United States.
"No, that is not my policy," the Texas senator told reporters.

Having been in “his” business, I believe I know more about his employment choices than you do. There are millions of Americans who have been robbed of those good jobs that should be theirs. When our TRUE employment figures are sufficiently low, maybe we can give some thought to limited immigration. We owe it to NOBODY to take in, clothe, shelter, and feed the world. Time they do it on their own without America paying the bills. Start with kicking the UN out of America.
I like Trump...but at this point he can talk the talk, but as president would he really ban all Muslims from coming into the country? I am not so sure...I think he is saying a lot of what people really want to hear, but will he really execute these ideas as president. Cruz is my first choice, but Trump is right there as well, with the above caveat of is he telling the truth? Very interesting thus far!

But I agree. Immigration from anywhere to the US should be put on permanent hold.

Excellent analogy - Trump is being a leader, taking action as world events that threaten us unfold. Cruz is resting on his laurels, debating the issues trying to figure out what he thinks.

Refine the proposal a bit to make it workable - like banning all identifiable members of mosques that promote terrorism, or islamic preachers who call support jihad, or anybody who expresses hatred for America or Christians or Jews, or anybody who has shown support for Sharia.
You can base it on actions and make the umbrella very big, covering tons of actions.

I thought his campaign manager said Trump would bar all Muslims, not just immigrants. If that’s accurate, I can’t see how he is justified in hiring Muslims for his companies.
And ditto for illegal aliens at his companies. I’ll bet that a very large percentage of the maids and landscapers at his USA properties are illegals. When is he going to fire all of them?
