Cruz on Trump's Muslim Ban: 'That's Not My Policy'
texastribune.org ^ | Dec. 7, 2015

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz said Monday he does not support banning all Muslims from entering the country, distancing himself from an inflammatory proposal by rival Donald Trump.

Earlier Monday, the billionaire frontrunner for the GOP nomination called for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on." Cruz weighed in on the proposal while campaigning in South Carolina, where he was asked if he would support a policy barring Muslims from coming into the United States.

"No, that is not my policy," the Texas senator told reporters.

I read the same thing. No U.N. selected should be admitted. Simply bar them all.

Thank you. I like it that Trump admires patton and MacArthur, neither of which were P.C.

Glad Cruz waits to give a more tactical response that has the legal foundation to actually happen rather than blurting out any old thing

How does Trump’s proposal lack legal foundation?

++++++++++++++

I was talking about Cruz in that sentence. You’ll have to ask Trump what his legal foundation for his policy is.

My spidey sense is telling me that maybe Cruz was picked by the Bushes to be a stealth candidate in case JEB couldn’t win. That way Cruz would fulfill the Bush agenda and it would actually be the third Bush administration. Of course the Bush family would want JEB to win but they must have a back up in case he loses. No doubt the Bush team must have done private polling before putting JEB out there and discovered that he had all the charisma of a wet sneaker. The Bush team wants to keep their place as the Republican Kennedy’s —the royal family of American politics.

After all you’ve just said about Trump moving the pendulum back to the right, how can you say you want RUBIO for anything? He doesn’t even qualify for dog-catcher. He is the establishment guy who would continue down the same path which is destroying us, the same path as Jeb Bush! I think you need to open your eyes about Rubio. He is a sell out to open borders and amnesty.and that’s just for starterss! Where Ya Been????????????????

I’m with 100% Trump is big on bullshit and short on specifics. Cruz would run circles around him in any one on one intellectual debate.
Trump is strictly a Barnum & Bailey play. Sucker born every minute.

Stopping immigration, from Muslim nations, like now, as Trump said, is a very workable idea. Much as it is important to stop the bleeding first.

Since Muslims cause death, chaos, and misery where ever they congregate worldwide, it is a good idea...as in survival, to stop Muslim immigration in its tracks. From there we will find out which Muslims want to assimilated in the U.S./Western Culture and which ones don't. The latter need to be deported for the sake of our children's future.

Try this on for size—what if Cruz is really the Bush III administration? What if the Bushes chose Cruz to be a stealth candidate in case JEB lost? Cruz and his wife both worked for the Bush administration, they are from Texas and Cruz is a beloved Hispanic. You know how the Bushes just love their Hispanics.

I’ve actually been having the same thoughts. I first wondered, who the he** thought ANY Bush would be elected? I mean really? So here comes Cruz, all the creeds so he is the antithesis of Bush. Yet, I peel back the layers and realize the 3 headed monster who is pulling all the strings, wants enough of what Cruz wants that it’s ‘workable’.
Amnesty, has Cruz stated a solid NO to that? If he has, I think I missed it.
Wall Street, I sense he’s very careful with what his associations truly are.

This garbage today just misses the target by a mile.
Stopping all immigration at this time is the most logical step considering where we are as a nation - employment wise, debt wise, terror wise. It’s just so blatant imho.

“As opposed to not ruling out legal status, Trump plans to deport illegals and bring them back as legal immigrants.”

Do you honestly, honestly think, as your post suggests that you do, that Trump intends to bring back the whole 30 million illegals that he sends out.

He has repeatedly said which ones would come back. The standard will rule out about 99%.

“Trump’s plan will never happen unless we become a dictatorship.”

“become”? Have you noticed what Obama is doing with our immigration laws?

Ok, how about "part of your immigration application requires you to adopt and hug this dog from our local animal shelter, he's a great dog, belonged to a Christian family, he can even bark 'Jesus Loves The Little Children', how about it?

Not a bad idea, but what if they're Vietnamese?

Many weren’t shipped back across the Atlantic, but rather north of the border to what would become Canada.

“No, that is not my policy,” the Texas senator told reporters. “I believe the focus should focus on radical Islamic terrorism, and we need to be directly focused on threats to the United States. We need a commander in chief that perceives what the threat is and that targets all of our resources to protecting this nation against radical Islamic terrorism.”

And Ted that’s also Trump’s plan, but he wants to start it by stopping the flow of Muslims into the country. That should also be your plan.
