I think the climate change hearings yesterday should disprove that...if any more proof was needed. Cruz works IN the establishment, but I don’t think he’s OF the establishment.

Heck, I would have a hard enough time voting for him if he were somehow to become the Republican nominee.

As a sweetener, how about Trump/Cruz?

RE: “Id rather see Hillary win...”

Wilderness Conservative, can you please elaborate on how you are conservative. That statement up there by you seems inconsistent.

“They’re nothing but a bunch of lightweight “Progressives””

That’s fine, as long as you prefer president Hillary Clinton to this bunch of lightweight “Progressives”. Because that’s what you’re gonna get.

Right. Even among those here, Trump’s support can be variable. Extrapolate that across the country and it’s a pretty big problem I think.

I wonder if someone like Christie falls out of the wash so to speak. Maybe a surprise win in NH? I never thought I would see the day when Christie wasn’t the loud mouth.

If Trump ran as an independent I would vote for him unless Cruz was the GOP's nominee.

That scenario would be problematic. Trump has my vote come hell or high water. But a three-way that included Cruz is the only thing I can see (now that you mention it) to be concerned about.

Top GOP members and leaders have already stated that they will vote for Hillary or ‘sleep in’ if Trump is the nominee.

Remember in the old days when a party had a hugely popular candidate that party use to stand behind him? Shows how radicalized the GOP has become today.

“Yes, but we here are not the people that will hand Trump victory if he runs as an independent. We’re the 20% of the vote he’d get. He’s going to need to double that, likely.”

Agreed. But there are a whole passel of folks out there that are totally fed up with everything that’s going on, folks who primarily rely on the MSM for their news, and they are pissed. And they are Democrats, Independents, and knee-jerk Republicans, in addition to we well informed Freepers. My wife talks to these kinds of people all the time, and except for the die-hard “Progressives”, they’re all thinking about voting for Trump.

“no one will ever convince me otherwise that this wasn’t the plan all along to put Hillary in the White House. “

Once he wins, I think you will be convinced.
