Easy solution, put 1/4 of the amount on their EBT card every week instead of doing it once a month. Not entirely sure how it all works but wouldn’t it just be an electronic addition to the EBT card?
Course, if there’s an expensive yet useless way to solve this problem, our government will find it.
A better way would be to have a government-run soup kitchen that dispensed the recommended daily caloric intake. If the food stamp people want to eat, they can line up three times per day. They don’t have anything else to do.
By the way, it doesn’t have to be particularly tasty food. Just basic nutrition.
There are two kinds of cards.
The EBT card can be used for anything.
The SNAP card is the “Food Stamps” card and is used for food items that require some type of preparation - like Ramen.
So when you see people using “two” cards one is the SNAP for the food items and the second is the EBT for the other stuff.
My goodness, an actual constructive suggestion on FR regarding food stamps rather than drooling polemics. Congratulations. Sounds like an idea with merit that would take some time to implement.
it could be programmed like that and the government will claim that it makes it incredibly expensive. If a government worker has to take a new way into work our taxes go up.

“Pretty aggressive on how you want to pay me my money! Who put you in charge of my money!? How am I supposed to survive on only $90 a week when before I was getting $360!? You sound like one of those rich one percenters just trying to keep me down.” (Okay - now I’ll be going back over to DU. /S)
