When (as I expect) Trump gets the nomination, he will give the Republican incumbents and offer they can’t refuse. You come campaign with me, or I when I come to town I campaign against you. By then I expect that it will be clear that refusing the first is not a ticket back to D.C.

But if that is not the case, and Trump wins in a photo finish, you could expect impeachment to magically become easy.

But IMHO Trump wins big because the Dems cannot win a third consecutive term against a media killer like Trump with an enthusiasm killer like Hillary. And with a Great Recession to explain away. In that sense I am hopeful; OTOH I know Trump will have true conservatives tearing their hair out sooner rather than later.

So the politician is afraid Trump will act like a politician?

“If Trump wins as a third party candidate he can just start writing executive orders and memos right and left and there will be no way to stop him.”

I’m not so sure about that. While the Republicans, who have had one and now both houses, have not been willing to lift a finger to stop Soetoto, they would probably fight Trump tooth and nail.

That is the money quote. Although I would add in addition to fighting Trump they also would be fine with Hillary.

Ben Carson’s threatening to leave too if they don’t run the process honestly.

The ?Establishment opposes Trump for teh same reason it opposes Cruz and Carson: they’re not people the Establishment can control. Whatever their disagreements with each other, any of the three of them is his own man. The Establishment insiders can’t allow that.

Flake is one of the biggest RINO’s around. One year he was voted most hated politician or maybe it was most hated Senator.

In your dreams. He would get impeached. Would probably be near unanimous and the senate would be happy to convict.

What we’re witnessing is the top level of the political “good ol’ boys club” reacting to an upstart who is elbowing in on their territory. Cruz is seen as equally unacceptable, as is anyone who hasn’t jumped on board the politically-correct train to Progressiveville. Fatal cases of bloody flux upon the entire lot of them.
