Trump: Ted Cruz 'a maniac' in Senate
Washington Examiner ^ | 12/13/15 | Sarah Westwood

Posted on 12/13/2015 8:16:20 AM PST by Isara

Donald Trump took aim at Sen. Ted Cruz Sunday, launching one of the first of what will likely be a series of attacks against the candidate now leading him in Iowa.

"I don't think he's qualified to be president," Trump said, arguing the Texas Republican's tenure in the Senate makes him too divisive for the job.

Cruz has been "frankly a little bit of a maniac," Trump said in a taped interview on Fox News. "You're never gonna be able to get things done that way."

"You can't walk into the Senate and scream and call people liars and not be able to cajole and get along with people," Trump said. "He'll never be able to get anything done and that's the problem with Ted."

Trump also appeared Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," touting his business success, his best-selling books and his TV show "The Apprentice."

"You don't make that kind of success without judgement," he added.

Trump was responding to comments from Cruz earlier this week questioning the real estate mogul's judgement. A Bloomberg News/Des Moines Register poll released Saturday showed Cruz opening a 10 point polling lead on Trump in Iowa.

"I would say I have far better judgement than Ted," Trump said. "I'm more capable."

Trump also stood by his controversial proposal to ban Muslims from entering the country on a temporary basis despite condemnation from the leaders of both parties.

"I'm about security. I'm about safety. I'm about borders," he said. "We have to have the right people coming into our country."

Trump defended his Muslim policy by arguing his Muslim friends supported the idea.

"They know they have a problem," he said.

The GOP front-runner blasted President Obama and Hillary Clinton for their reluctance to criticize radical Islam in the wake of the San Bernardino shooting.

"If you don't identify the problem, you're never going to solve the problem," he said.

You said precisely what I’ve been thinking about Trump. And most definitely not presidential. His shtick has worn cold and old for me.

If “get things done” means “put casinos into bankruptcy” or “inherit a fortune from my daddy”, sure.

What do you know about Trump's personal investments? His business associates? Nothing!

It is foolish to assume that people in his inner circle won't want something special from a President Trump.

Nice, deport. Mark Levin should be ashamed to promote this worthless/biased chart on his ‘Conservative review’!

In fact, I tried for weeks to get Levin to speak about the LIES being told by Rubio on CNN/Politico about Trump on immigration and bankruptcies, but he flat refused!

So here are the facts.

[snip]Thursday, November 05, 2015
GOP & Media (Politico) want RINO Rubio and will cover his lies about Trump to do it!

Headline: Rubio knocks Trump for switching stances on immigration

Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2015/11/marco-rubio-slams-donald-trump-215509#ixzz3qdSO55Ut

THIS ARTICLE IS A LIE! We knew Marco Rubio had sold out to the illegal alien lobby LONG ago, but we didn’t know he was a flat out liar.
NASTY people own Rubio.

Politico is the mouthpiece of the organized crime wing of the GOP, who is happy to publicize the lies of Marco Rubio without the thought of correcting the record.

Here are the facts of #Trumps prior position IN WRITING: Trump from “The America We Deserve”, 2000 He has always been pro enforcement/anti INVASION!

IMMIGRATION- PROTECTING OUR OWN There’s another area of foreign affairs that doesn’t get talked about very much, but it is a huge issue: Immigration. America is experiencing serious social and economic difficulty with illegal immigrants who are flooding across our borders. Five million illegals live in this country.

Two million of them live in California. Seven hundred thousand undocumented immigrants live in Texas. We simply can’t absorb them. It is a scandal when America cannot control its own borders.

A liberal policy of immigration may seem to reflect confidence and generosity. But our current laxness toward illegal immigration shows a recklessness and disregard for those who live here legally.

Trump, Donald (2000-01-15). The America We Deserve (Kindle Locations 1670-1671). St. Martin’s Press. Kindle Edition.

Trump from “Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again,” 2011

Illegal immigration is a wrecking ball aimed at U.S. taxpayers. Washington needs to get tough and fight for “We the People,” not for the special interests who want cheap labor and a minority voting bloc. Every year taxpayers are getting stuck with a $113 billion bill to pay for the costs of illegal immigration.2 That’s a bill we can’t afford and wouldn’t have to pay if people in Washington did their jobs and upheld our nation’s laws.

Trump, Donald J. (2011-12-06). Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again (p. 135). Regnery Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Rubio and his media are promoting his latest lie that Trump has gone bankrupt FOUR times!

“I find it ironic that the only person running for president that’s ever declared a bankruptcy, four times in the last 25 years, is attacking anyone’s finances,” Rubio told CNN when asked about the feud.”

Donald Trump has NEVER filed personal bankruptcy! FACTS matter, but not to the open border crowd! As someone who has worked for decades in this field, I know what a Chapter 11 Bko is...and so does the lying Rubio campaign. It is reorganization..the creditors get paid!

Law Dictionary: How is Donald Trump Able to File for Bankruptcy So Many Times?
http://thelawdictionary.org/article/how-is-donald-trump-able-to-file-for-bankruptcy-so-many-times/

Written by James Hirby | Fact checked by The Law Dictionary staff

People might ask “How is Donald Trump able to file for bankruptcy so many times?” The answer is “He didn’t.” Trump himself has never filed for bankruptcy. His corporations have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy four times. By filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the corporation is allowed to continue running while restructuring and reducing its debt. By allowing the business to continue, employees still have their jobs and the business is still making money. Corporate debts still need to be repaid but they may be reduced. The corporation must develop a repayment plan and corporate budget. Both must be approved by the creditors and by the bankruptcy court.

Exactly, Cruz has to be GIVEN press. Trump takes it almost against their will because of ratings.

Everybody wants something from Trump. Since he is not taking any money from them he can just say no. His friends have offered him millions in campaign donations.

Your argument is pretty weak.

It is pretty hypocritical for Trump to call someone else a maniac. But I’m sticking with him. For now.

If you can’t see the successful Trump towers in Manhattan, Chicago, and Vegas, just to name a few of the thousands of big solid things that Trump has accimplished, then your eyes are wide shut.

By attacking Trump’s inability to get things done in the context of him saying Cruz gets nothing done in the Senate, looks like you’re conceding Trump’s point about Cruz.

What part of Donald Trump's self-absorbed, hedonistic history of self-aggrandizment would ever even suggest that his main goal in life is to benefit others?

Please tell us.

I understand that we're dealing with blindly idolatrous hero worship here, but come on. Why would anyone buy that analysis?

How exactly did Cruz attack Trump? Trump has been nothing but vicious since he announced. He’s obnoxious as all get out, conceited, and totally focused on self. I do appreciate his wanting to make America great again. Don’t we all? He has said a lot of things I don’t disagree with. But presidential? I think not. About as much as Hillary is, and the current pResident. No thanks.

PAC $$ -> ads.

Yep. Cruz like every other candidate has no choice but to get along with his donors and the vast majority if not all large donors are pro-amnesty. It's the facts of life.

But people had better realize that with Cruz's plan, even more American jobs will go because all illegals will be legal hires and he wants to bring in exponentially more legally, green cards, H1b visas, and no per-country limit on applicants from countries like Mexico, China and India.

In fact Cruz's plan will hurt America as much as Gang of Eight. The only word Cruz doesn't like is "citizenship" unless its his term "path to citizenship".

Cruz started it.AND he deserves the backlash. Levin is wrong on some of his choices. Cruz is NOT perfect on Immigration, nor is he perfect on National Security, nor on Economics.
