No argument from me, but there are a whole lot of people in this country who believe that the Bible and the Koran are very similar books full of fairy tales.
Fire all the teachers and admins. Then kick their asses up and down the street l.
Yes I can.
The problem for me is that, that is too long.
I can imagine that it would take minimal effort to translate, "I believe in God, and his only Son Jesus Christ," into "Arabic" and practice calligraphy on that.
If no one can tell what it says, what difference does it make?
Yes, I am aware that there is an infinite number of subtle differences in executing Arabic calligraphy that transforms the words into art. So spare me.
The same can be done to a pork recipe...
REVOLTING!
School district needs MAJOR clean-out!
Is this for real?
If so, WTF!!???
The same education unions that have kicked God and especially Christianity all the way off school property because of “separation of church and state,” not only allows this sort of BS but mandates that students partake of it?
I fear this country is heading toward a French-style revolution eventually.

There is no allah. I’m sure there were many mohamheads raping girls and following the satanic written words of a pedophile. That is all.
Moronic children brainwashed by lies is all islam has. Morons, ignorant and gullible.

On another (locked) thread, somebody was asking if the book this exercise was taken from could be identified. It’s from ‘World Religions: Teacher Created Resources’ by Gabriel Arquilevich.
Pinging you the details of the book the Islamic exercise was taken from
Thanks for the info. Not that I know much about the textbook publishing industry, but it looks like something of a two-bit publisher. So, maybe the use of the workbook may not be so widespread. That’s good, at least.
I took calligraphy once. I held the pen at 30 degrees and practiced writing a saying by Abraham Lincoln. How times have changed. :(
I think perhaps you misunderstood?- My point was not the students being outraged, but the ACLU and liberals being outraged if students were forced to write something like what I said- God, Jesus, Savior etc
SO WHERE ARE THE ATHEISTS SUING TRYING TO GET PRAYER OUT OF SCHOOL ???? OH YES CHRISTIANS DONT CHOP HEADS.....

These pro-Islam propagandists know exactly what they’re doing and they’re employing very clever trickery to shove this down the throats of unsuspecting Americans. We’re being subjected to stealth shariah.
The teacher is intentionally conflating calligraphy with Arabic, as if Arabic is the only language that can be written with calligraphy.
Not so.
In fact, calligraphy is simply the use of pretty inks and special fat and skinny brushes to hand-paint stylized lettering fonts.
You can create fonts with calligraphy brushes using any letters or numerals in any language—English, Roman, Cyrillic, etc.
And now these students can absently doodle the shahada, be enamored at the beauty of the forms, reproduce it in art class, pass it on to others.
Reminds me of the phases of (ooooh!) lighting black candles and drinking coke with aspirin -ahem- some of us went through.
Though school/teacher endorsement could take away from the cool factor.
Btw, this jibes with teacher's syllabus on website if it's for first half of year, study of world religions.
