Holman Jenkins at the Wall Street Journal took a look at Donald Trumpâs finances over the weekend, and suggested the outspoken billionaire might not be able to afford to keep a serious national campaign going past the first few states:
None of his offenses against propriety seem to have dinged the support that, in a crowded race, keeps Donald Trump atop the GOP primary polls.
Republicans are now talking about a brokered convention, which could be a disaster for the country, and for the GOP, and quite possibly hand the election to Hillary Clinton without a real contest or even critique of her agenda.
So goes the fear. But unless we miss our guess, our long national nightmare-cum-sketch comedy show actually has a termination date. It will end the moment campaigning begins to threaten Mr. Trumpâs finances and business interests.
Actually, as Jenkins notes further in his piece, Trumpâs campaign already has already damaged his business interests:

Ooooops! He “only” pulls down $200 LARGE per year. My bad.
The only thing left for the WSJ to do, is to formally endorse Hillary.
If Cruz falls, I will go all-in for Trump and start sending Trump the same monthly donations I send to Cruz.
Anyone who doesn't donate to the person of their choice, doesn't really back anyone - they just oppose others and that's a sure way to continue our losing streak...
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit.
PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
He has explained that as every person, as a societal goal, should have access to health care. Why would you have a problem with that?
Thanks.
A NEW approach: “Hey you dimwits who support Trump; DON’T because he will run out of money!” Bad case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Since when does the GOP care about the country?
The people would send money to keep him in the race. Many of us sent money to Fred Thompson and Sarah Palin, for instance.
Ever thought of changing your name to FAMOUS AMOS?
I knew Famous Amos; Amos was a friend of mine. But then I was on a first name basis with Betty Crocker, Aunt Jemima (she actually preferred to be called Jem) and Mrs. Butterworth. Did you know that Mr. Butterworth was eaten by cannibals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sad, sad story.
All Trump has to do is keep opening his mouth and he gets free airtime on the news.
If it is brokered it may go like this. Cruz, Carson, and though reluctantly Paul, give all their delegates to Trump.
How does the establishment defeat that?
They can't. They are just trying to stir up trouble. As if they don't have enough already. Are they going to give Linda Grahmmys’ 0.00000000000000001% to JEB! ???
Yeah. That’ll work.
Pathetic.
I have taught Old Testament to 6th graders at my parish for over 15 years. The day after Obama was elected in 2008, I offered up a special intention for him. I was surprised at the booing I heard from my students.
Though I understood it completely, one of my students was black, and he was understandably disappointed at the reaction of his classmates.
I took the next 15 minutes to explain the historical significance of his election, and a bit of recent history to illustrate how far we had come. I didn't criticize the students that booed, I merely provided some perspective (even though there was no way in Hades I could have ever voted for Obama...lol).
I didn't vote for McCain, rather I voted for Sarah.
I'm not going to say our prayers weren't answered. Without Obama, I doubt the TEA Party would have started as it did. Nor would the rest of the country voted out hundreds of Democrats, to the point that the Democrat Party really has no bench.
Had McCain won, I'm not certain he would have championed the right solutions to get this country back on track. What I do know, based on my years of teaching the Old Testament, is that God has a wicked sense of humor, as personified in the story of Esau and Jacob, one of my favorite lessons.
All this does is further reveal that the Republican establishment and the Chamber of Commerce-WSJ crowd (amnesty and those who mainline cheap labor like a junkie mainlines heroin and go into withdrawls or even die without it, and the obese government and crony capitalist alliance crowd) do not believe in capitalism but rather want to threaten, autocratically control and regulate all business and commerce, and we see the results of their socialist policies and thirst for endless government spending and exploding Paul Ryan type “budgets” bankrupting the country.
So now they are threatening and saying, “we are going to threaten your livelihood, and use government to go after your business and sic the IRS after you and selectively criminalize capitalism and business and ingenuity if you do not submit to our political agendas, power and elitism” ....
They are threatening all of us. That is what this is.
But there is another story that is not getting much press. Many Americans today have 401k’s, as a result they are increasingly joining the ranks of investors who then become savey in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, commodities, the numbers of those with brokerage accounts is on a notable upcurve, and those building IRAs who do not have any faith or trust in Social Security into the future.
Investors are now hardwired right into the very existence of many, many, many corporations, business, and actually now have tremendous power that they are now just starting to realize they hold but did not realize this before - much more power than even the super rich CEOs who may “control things” of the business or corporation. And speaking of rich, many of these investors are not so dumb as people think and are increasingly becoming more sophisticated in their trading and investment knowledge - the government class and the crony capitalists also are now shocked to see the use by such investors of advanced computer programs to analyze the markets, they are not stupid but smart, and they are catching on that the best investors are not those who just follow the ticker tape market but those who understand that to be a great investor you need to follow the wurld news, politics, elections, science and technology, wars, GOVERNMENT POLICY, disease even the weather, and to eye what the POLITICAL CLASS REALLY WANTS AND IS DOING - they are noticing that their real agendas are not very good for most of their investments but only for a selective crony-capitalist-government-class few and these investors see how these goons THREATEN their interests, MESS with their investments and SCREW UP the GDP and overall business and are in fact ENEMIES of Democracy and Capitalism and definetly NOT GOOD for their investments.
These “small fry” investors are now, and increasingly, not small fry anymore. Their actual power is growing - and let me say, they have HUGE power which they are only just now starting to realize.
Many make more money from their investments than from salary - I do, and I make a good salary.
So you will start to see something new coming. These investors do not like an Obama, a Mitch McConnell or a Paul Ryan or their “results” or policies and they look at these threats coming from them and think, “maybe I won’t buy Macys anymore ...”
And maybe they will buy “others” but not “them” - not just because they don’t LIKE “them” but because they are realizing they are NOT good for their OVERALL investments and not good for their own “bottom line” - a new type of “selfishness” that doesn’t like the agenda of “them” that threatens the economy and interests and how they now threaten their favorite candidates, either.
Like how they threaten Trump, for example. They know they are also threatening them, and are increasingly the people are becoming “more sophisticated” and realizing just now just what power they are holding as well, and the other side doesn’t want them to sort of notice that, the other side also was so wrapped up in their “take downs” and agendas actually many didn’t even see it. Sort of like, not noticing the birds that came in sort of unnoticed.
But they are going to start to notice. As for the threats to Trump and others and “money” - no prublem. There are now lots of folks like me ready to max out donations to Trump if and when. No problem at all. We may not be Bill Gates. But we are a lot of people.
Warning to Establishment - you are in bigger trouble than you think, even though you know you are in big trouble, And you can’t afford how much money you are going to lose. You will need to borrow a lot. Cut back on your expenses.
No, that is not what Trump was saying. Until recently, Trump supported a Canadian-style, single-payer plan. That is exactly the same plan advocated by Bernie Sanders.
Today's 'Republican' party would simply love that. Anything to keep the White House in Globalist/Elitist hands. IN NO CIRCUMSTANCE would they want anyone who is not another Globalist/Elitist.
“Until recently, Trump supported a Canadian-style, single-payer plan.”
Why is it that only Cruz supporters know that? The GOPe, the MSM, the other Republican candidates evidently don’t know that.

He shows up at campaign events in his own TRUMP emblazoned 757 jet or his own helicopter giving kids rides, and they talk about his money. Are they serious?
The ones living in a fantasy world are these screwballs.
