LIBERAL LOGIC:

Electricity generation causes global warming (a.k.a., climate change).
Christmas lights use electricity
Christmas causes global warming (a.k.a., climate change)

Therefore, "the Erf is doomed" because of Christmas!

As the new Christmas light strings are led at about a quarter of a watt per bulb or less, slate estimates the average house in their neighborhood sports over eighty thousand lights.

They must live in quite ritzy neighborhoods.

I suspect that 22 kilowatts per house nationwise would bring the grid down.

Give them freedom. The discrepancy will disappear.

Using electricity is A Bad Thing?

Well, maybe they should pass a law that punishes people for using electricity.

That’s worked so well for drug use, you know.

Sounds like a great setup. I use Reaper, too for recording/mixing. Used to use Pro Tools but it's expensive as all get out. Record live from a Behringer X32 32 channel digital board into a Thunderbolt port on my Mac. I use iZotope RX v5 for removing noise(s) from the room (it's unbelievably powerful) and Ozone 5 for mastering.

I'd love to hear something you've done if you post it somewhere in cyberspace. Don't worry. It won't destroy the planet.

Cordially,

“So the country with the third highest population in the world uses a lot of electricity?”

Maybe if we kicked out the illegals, the visa overstays, cut visas in half, stopped chain immigration, cut immigration by two thirds, closed the border and stopped that silly birthright citizenship thing our electricity use would go way down. I don’t hear English at the grocery anymore.

I suspect that 22 kilowatts per house nationwise would bring the grid down.

22 kilowatt-HOURS (energy) not 22 kilowatts (power). It's like comparing distance vs. speed.

You could light your 80000 LEDs for one hour, or a more modest 444 LEDs for 6 hours per night for 30 days with 22 kWh.

Just making the remark that if everyone turned on their lights when the sun went down, so would the grid. Space the daily figures over a month and it would work, but that would mean they multiplied the figures by 30.

Same difference. They lied as usual, and exaggerated the problem all out of proportion to reality as is usual for our little enviro-nazis.

A kilowatt hour is a thousand watts used in an hour. 22 kilowatt hours uses is power (22 thousand watts ) x (time 1 hour) I do understand. What they did not explain is how long, on would assume a day, you assumed 30 days. I used their deliberately wishy washy statement in the same vein as it was given to be one hour to make a point, and bring the absurdity of the size of lighting they assumed into focus.

Another example would be that your plug in heater uses 1.3Kwh on high. You can heat a house with three of them at 4Kwh. If you used the amount of power they claim, you would burn your house down.

Seven tenths of a Kilowatt hour is one horse power.

Their statement is beyond absurd.

Besides all that, if some other country wants electricity bad enough they can always just generate it. Cave men did not use the wheel, that does not make the wheels on my car bad does it?!

My guess is that Saudi Arabia did not use or need one whole watt for Christmas lights...

If all of the village idiots left their villages and formed their own village, that village would be slate.

A good flashlight uses more electricity than some of those countries.

When I setup my annual Christmas light, my goal is to have them bright enough to be seen from space.

Who cares. If it is there use it. You can’t store electricity.

I’m not into TexMex. I lived in NM from 1972-1986. NM & CO have the finest Mexican food in the world. Much better than Mexico.

Secret? Hatch Green Chili. (and Red Chili)

Also how it is made. Truly the Finest MX food in the World.

Almost never find that type in Texas restaurants, but my wife and cook it. hee hee hee (note, she is from NC, go figure)

NM Mex is different from TexMex we can agree, but better no agree. NMMex seems to have more Indian influence, good for an occasion, but not as a staple.

“Real” Mex in Mexico was never like TexMex or NMMex.

Happy you didn’t try to throw CalMex into this ‘good mex mix’.
