A man in Massachusetts says someone has been stealing Donald Trump signs from his yard for months. He has finally caught the thief red-handed.
Joe Ricci says this was the final straw. Surveillance video captured what he says has been going on for months. Someone taking those big blue "Trump" signs right out of his yard. "He saw my truck wasn't in the driveway, so he grabs the sign and off he runs."
His camera is close enough and clear enough, he says, to identify the person in the video as his neighbor's teenaged son. We blurred his face because he's underage. Ricci called police, who came out for the second time in a week to take a report.
But look who else his cameras recorded later. Monday night, the suspect and his dad, coming back with one sign to apologize.
Ricci said, "The father actually had the nerve to ask me if I needed yard work done as retribution for this. I just laughed and told him to get off my property."

Libbylu, I understand what you are saying.
The father did the right thing by bringing his son over to fess up and apologize. The father should not pay for the teenagers actions, but the teenager can be responsible for his action and make restitution by doing yard-work.
One does not have to know Ricci to see that he lost an opportunity there.
There are no screams in electrocution...by the electrocuted, anyway. The muscles, including the diaphragm, would be paralyzed.
It was a nice thought, though.
Do you personally know Ricci?
Oh darn, you meant low amperes. ;-)
Since most yard signs are stolen at night....
Post the signs on a steep hillside....and scatter cat/dog *hit down downhill slope. They won’t know until they get back in their car. With any luck they will slip and fall in it.
Cover the back side of the yard sign with roofing tar. THAT won’t come off with anything they will have in their car. Whatever they have on will be ruined.
Spray the sign hot pepper sauce. They will get it in their nose/mouth.
I have noticed that on many threads. I can not understand why.
No thanks. I would not want that kid anywhere near my property. A few tears ago I had a young man doing repair work. Things came up missing from the yard and garage. I even discovered that $1500 was missing from my purse. I kept him on and later found out that he had used my money for drugs. I should have kicked him out when the old ac walked off but I am too easy going.
Not a good idea .. because they could be construed as a “trap” .. and you could be in a lot of trouble .. depending on where you live.
You would think they could have waited for better weather before making a promo video. LOL
Well, maybe .. but we have no idea what kind of history Ricci has with this neighbor.
The neighbor may always be making excuses for his child; and now it has finally caught up to them.
” I am not a troll.”
Funny “jstaff,” I was commmenting on “libbylu!” So do you use two screen names here?
I would expand that from '98 to '00.
Cameras are everywhere. If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.
Oh bull.. that kid has stolen from Ricci not once(you could maybe let that slide) but for MONTHS.. The kid needs a visit to the local court system
For not accepting an apology he sure is, especially when the neighbor was making his kind pay the price for his bad behavior and trying to make it right.
The ceiling fan is rotating inside out.
You know what a teachable moment will be, it will be his sorry ass being convicted of theft and sentenced to 30 days of public service.
Letting the kid skate with a wrist slap is only going to teach him that he can get away with anything.
You may not be a troll, but you are a jerk off.
No, but you accused her of being one because of what she said. I agree with her so I just thought I would save you the trouble of having to call me one also. I guess the urge to bark was just too great for you to resist.
Just a guess, but are a Trump guy?
A father offering his son to do work in compensation for damages the son did, perceived or otherwise, is old school parental justice. Politely decline, or enthusiastically accept and work his ass off.
It’s the guys right to press charges, but the police may also decline.
What my mother did to me when I egged somebodies house on Hollow’s eve was to take me to my scoutmaster who gave me three names of single elderly women near me and from then on for years I shoveled their snow and chipped the ice off their stairs for free. I became the darling of the neighborhood. I got invites to do yard work for pay, snow shoveling for pay, and then when I was older, A neighbor offered me a golf caddy job on weekends.
Much much sweeter than revenge.
