Washington (CNN)After repeatedly boasting that he has spent very little on his campaign so far, Donald Trump is set to begin spending $2 million a week on ads in early primary and caucus states.

Trump told reporters Tuesday that he will begin his first major paid media campaign, which he has refused to do despite large advertising buys from his Republican rivals and the super PACs supporting them, next month. Trump, who has no authorized outside group independently backing him, appears to be finally paying heed to polls that show the GOP race tightening in Iowa.

Trump is living rent-free in the heads of the MSM. They give him free advertising every single day.

All they are doing is growing his support. It’s kinda hilarious to watch. They keep coming out more shrill each day, showing they are all in the tank for Hillary.

So much for the “he’ll drop out once he has to start spending money” meme.

Trump:

I’m winning the race in my used Honda Civic - I’m going to jump in my Ferrari now.

He can spend money for a month and if he wins 2 of 3 then he probably won’t have to spend any until August. He will be in the news every day.

The Donald doesn't like losing.

He's losing.

he has already invested his sacred honor. Now it’s time to invest his fortune. Trump is in this to win. He’s not anybody’s boy.

Yes, I can imagine the stories of his “loss” on his Inauguration Day, next January.

I don’t know what his situation is, but he’s not yet losing. We won’t know for a few months yet each of the front-runners actual positions. It’s really between Trump and Cruz at this point with nobody else really close.

If he’s still in, after spending $100 million dollars, then we can he’s in. Spending $8-10 million still leaves the question in the air, although it is further evidence that he might actually be serious.

“Trump is living rent-free in the heads of the MSM. They give him free advertising every single day.”

Last night on Fox was hilarious - they spent the whole night saying Trump would join them at 11:45. Then he shows up for 15 minutes and gets to do the countdown. He got hours of free publicity and got to do the main attraction.

“Spending $8-10 million still leaves the question in the air”

keep moving that goal post...

No one else is spending that much of their own money. Cruz is even using his children to beg for money. (Heidi is keeping her Goldman-Sachs piggy bank locked up, it seems.)

i hope he holds back a bit. too many ads get on people’s nerves.

i would rather he do some very sharp hitting, plain speaking, clever ads. quality over quantity. sothey don’t look like every other politicians ads and start grinding on you after the second time seeing them.

Kids are grown, wives have been divorced, you are 69 soon to be 70 something years old and you have $5 billion.

He’s my idol.

Why does he care what anybody thinks of him? He can say anything he wants to.

He’s my hero. I want to be like him in 20 years when I grow up. :-)
