Donald Trump speaks to members of the press on his jet in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Very relaxed and gracious to the reporters. His patience is saintly, it really is. One reporter asked if he intends to be as aggressive with his tone once he's president, he said "No, I'm running now to win."

Nothing scripted, nothing planned, no press questions planted like what the others do, esp Hillary.

The contrast between Trump and Hillary is so extreme that I can't see how she wins one precinct. She'll get the 25% low informational pro abortion crowd, so will Bernie.

In fact, I predict, Bernie is going to win the one if not two of the first two primaries. It will force Hillary to go after him directly. It will get ugly.

Funny also how many of the things Bernie is saying, like gov't, so is Trump.

Can't wait for the New York polls. I think they will be a shocker. Trump will be miles ahead of Hillary. Then what does she do?

Folks, the press is really going to be on Trump's side. The story is going to change here quickly, fueled by the press that wants the narrative to change to a race between Bernie and Hillary, then places like New York for Trump, and they'll play that up.

The man is a master at schmoozing.

I was under the impression that was on the tarmac at Omaha while he was waiting for the weather to clear up a bit.

Don’t know. I took it directly from REal Clear Politics. Makes more sense to do it in Iowa, after the speech. Regardless, it’s great. He plays the press, all of them, like puppets. Gracious, unafraid, open. No vocalized pauses. When I hear someone speaking from the heart, there are no vocalized pauses. Do you notice that? Among our field the other candidates with conviction also speak well.

Fiorina, Cruz, Rubio, Christie, Huck. They speak very well, and seldom like Obama, Hillary or Bush do they ever throw in a vocalized pause. They know what the want to say.

That is a good ‘tell” for me. Trump hardly ever, ever throws in a vocalized pause when talking.

His patience is saintly. It really is. Protesters, reporters like JOrge Ramos, other the press other adversaries, even when they are obnoxious, he’s cool. Wants to persuade them to his side, providing they’re not on drugs.

But, I sense, from you comment that you don’t really spend any time reading Trump’s position papers, his books or his speeches. You’ve made your mind up. Did you watch the presser on his plane?

Council Bluffs is suburb of Omaha.

Eppley is actually surrounded by Iowa, though it is officially Omaha, NE.

Real Clear Politics huh?

Funny also how many of the things Bernie is saying, like gov't, so is Trump.

I have no idea what that sentence means. If it is trying to equate Sanders with Trump, lost me.

Folks, the press is really going to be on Trump's side. The story is going to change here quickly, fueled by the press that wants the narrative to change to a race between Bernie and Hillary, then places like New York for Trump, and they'll play that up.

Wrong. The press work for editors who get their narratives from the political affiliations of the outlet.

`The Press` are not jounalists by any stretch, they are political operatives who seek to take down their political opponents with lies and FUD campaigns.

You can't charm the press out of their political loyalties.

Shoddy.

What Bernie is saying about gov’t “waste.” Bernie says some things occasionally that make some sense, then he crawls back into his socialist/communist hole.

I fully 100% agree with you, and that’s why I love to watch Trump control them. I’m wondering who would he have as his press secretary? Hannity? Ann Coulter? The best would be someone who knows the business world and can speak the language. LIke that guy who leads The Five.

“Vocalized pauses”. Fiorina is a master at them. And then she emphasizes them with a pissy looking puckered up face. She needs to drop out and take her fellow single-digit colleagues with her.

Trump’s Press Secretary? I’m leaning toward Katrina Pierson right now, although Coulter would be excellent, too.

Trump slams possible Obama executive action on guns

10 Comments Shares Tweets Stumble Email

Not long after President Obama announced that he was considering taking executive action to tighten gun control laws, Donald Trump decried the idea, saying he didn’t like the possibility of altering the Second Amendment.

“I don’t like it,” Trump told “Face the Nation” moderator John Dickerson in an interview to air Sunday on CBS. “I don’t like anything having to do with changing our Second Amendment. We have plenty of rules and regulations.”

President Obama plans executive action for gun control

The president, who renewed his push for gun control legislation after last month’s deadly attack in San Bernardino, California, plans to meet with Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Monday to discuss options for strengthening firearm regulations.

One course of action the White House is considering is the expansion of background checks for firearms procured at gun shows — currently not a requirement because such sales often involve individuals that are unlicensed firearm sellers.

But Trump pushed back against that option, saying that there are numerous other routes the administration can take to prevent mass shootings.

“There’s plenty of things that they can do right now that are already there,” the GOP presidential hopeful said. “They don’t do them.”

The billionaire pointed to America’s “tremendous mental health problem” as an example.

“We are closing places all over the world, all over the country they are closing — but they are closing all over the world,” he said. “Tremendous mental health problems — nobody is doing anything about that.”

“All they want to do is blame the guns, and it’s not the gun that pulls the trigger, so I don’t like it,” Trump added. “I don’t like what he is doing.”

You can see more of John Dickerson’s interview with Donald Trump this Sunday on “Face the Nation.” Check your local listings for airtimes.

Thank you for posting this, I love seeing Trump in his own surroundings, especially on his plane. Here he is the gracious host, welcoming the press who can skewer him at any moment. (But he loves that kind of thing). Did you notice at the very end, a presser asked him as they were filing out, if he will be doing Meet the Press, and Trump said “no more”. That Chuck Todd has forgotten how Trump has saved his ratings. Gotta love Trump’s leverage over these low lifes.

I have often wondered about Cruz’s crowds. Thank you for posting the two pictures side by side— they show a thousand words.

Yes, I heard that. I mean, he is feerless. The typical republican will wince, and thing I can’t believe he said that, but if he said it knowing that Chuck Todd would hear it. He engages these people and keeps them flat footed.

I keep thinking about the big speech he gave, I think was it Birmingham or Mobile or maybe it was Iowa, where that low life Des Moine reporter was talking and laughing during the pledge of allegiance and singing of the National Anthem, then she later writes the erroneous article saying that Trump’s speech was cut off by protesters.

He went after her. I think too, he’s stayed true to not allowing Megyn Kelly to interview him. She’s going to be at the next debate or one after, and I fully expect her to be her usual self.

I’ve not watched her one minute since the first debates, and I’m hearing that she’s not doing the best.
