Militiamen Plan For What's Next As The Hammonds Head To Prison
Oregon Public Broadcasting ^ | 1/3/2016 | Amanda Peacher

Posted on 01/03/2016 9:04:52 PM PST by Nextrush

Ammon Bundy emerged from a small brick building at the headquarters of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge shortly after 11am.

He wouldn't say how many protestors were present at the site of the occupied federal complex, but fewer than 20 people were visible Sunday afternoon.

The leader of the occupation spoke in cool, calm tones as he explained why and other self-described militiamen broke into and took over the complex Saturday......

Protestor LaVoy Finicum, an Arizona rancher, said they're being careful not to damage the buildings or property. He claimed the protestors accessed the buildings after they found a set of keys. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service disputed that claim.......

When asked how long they plan to occupy the complex, Bundy would only say, 'for as long as it takes.'

Finicum said he plans to stay 'until the constitution is upheld." They brought food, fuel and supplies and local supporters visited the site Sunday adding to the stockpile.

Bundy said he hasn't heard from any law enforcement "since we made the stand." No officers were visible near the refuge, nor were marked police vehicles patrolling the remote ice-covered highways near the site.

But Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden said federal and local officers are paying close attention.

"They're following it literally by the minute and that's whey it's so important that we have this close coordination between the FBI, which of course takes the lead at the federal level, because of the wildlife refuge, and the state police and the Harney County Sheriff's Office," Wyden said.

Oregon state police told OPB that a joint command center of federal, state and local law enforcement offices will be established Monday.......

fascinating story. The BLM has a Hardon for the Hammonds. This gives credibility now to the folks that are there protesting their incarceration.

So what are the Nevada Bundy’s doing in Oregon?!

There is a lot of more to the story than just this case. The federal enforcement activity in the Western States has gotten very aggressive as of late trying to stop or limit use of the land, even though there is a historical local use. For instance, the feds want to bring in endangered animals on BLM land so it stops any BLM land use and also threatens use of adjoining property owners land due to proximity. My county only has 17% of our land in private hands...the rest is owned by government. State of Utah is finally going to file the lawsuit.

Is the Obama Regime behind this act of double-jeopardy?

I understand your buffalo analogy.

But, consider how many Federal LEO and willing and prepared for a standoff in single-digit weather...with two miles or more of clear visibility. In all directions.

It will be at least a week before they even know the resources required to secure the area.

And, it will likely take the National Guard.

"Hope we don’t end up with another Branch Davidian massacre or Ruby Ridge assasination."

That won't happen. Other situations in other times. Since the recent Bundy stand-off, the American gun-owning populace will not allow it. The FEDs backed down because of trained snipers on Fedgov snipers and ground forces. It was the biggest win for Constitutional freedom loving folks of our time.

That's all it needs: Bring enough military/hunting trained snipers on site and what is the Fedgov going to do when they attempt to take your last god-given rights? Does anyone really think the National Guard soldier-wannabes really want to die and leave their children fatherless for some socialist political cause? It won't happen.

Keep buying guns and ammunition. The 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution says why. If you don't understand the simplistic phrase in that Amendment, look in the debates, papers, publications, diaries, phrases of our Founding Fathers why every citizen should have the right to defend themselves. IT WAS NOT ABOUT HUNTING, as the liberals like to say. It was about having the ability to overthrow a tyrannical government as King George III was imposing on the colonies, plus the right to defend yourself against evil.

Time to turn this Nation back to its original intent. Everyone thinks progress is always the way, but what has more progress done to the most benevolent, charitible, freedom fighting Union of the this rock? It has only decreased the original values that much of the World has copied for decades!

We need to begin again...

Assuming bundy’s sons have close to 100 people with them inside the compound, basic tactics 101 would state roughly 300 feds to take that place in a fight. Feds aren’t exactly known for being good shots or being the bravest souls.

Even assuming bundys’ have 100 ex-SF soldiers in there, any smart fed would know they are the less dangerous group in the fight... the dangerous group is the hundreds possibly thousands of militia that are hanging out at the local McDonalds, cracker barrel, etc, etc. The fed encirclement could very quickly get encircled by “undercover” militia. This could go very ugly very quickly for the feds. A smart fed would have at least 300+ people and APC/bradley support they are were really going to try to fight them out without bombing them out.

That said I think this was perfect timing on bundys’ part. This spits in obama’s eye about his new gun regs. Obama will either be forced to once again look like a chump or try to fight it out... which will go bad very quickly. Least we forget currently hundreds of thousand of “felony militia” roam freely on government property in NY and CT. Obama has refused to go after them because the numbers are so massive. He maybe more willing to take a crack at these guys because they are few in number(at least visibly) then the legions of people in NY/CT. Either way bundy’s timing was perfect.

Sounds to me like the perfect set up for Obamas gun confiscation agenda. It is one thing to protest, it is another to do what they are doing. They are playing right into Obamas hand. The second amendment is dimming with every action like this. Seems like a case of double jeopardy, but I’m not legal.. Could be legal precedent to increase ones original sentence.
Would have been better for us all, if they had exhausted the legal system and gotten people involved. I didn’t know about the extra sentence..
I do know this type of thing has happened in the last democratic prez totalitarian reign. But it doesn’t help our cause.

Double Jeopardy only applies to a finding of Not Guilty.

In this case, it was a higher court finding that the sentence given by the lower court was not sufficient.

No Jeopardy is attached.

People standing up and taking action to reinforce their 2nd Amendment rights is the only thing keeping Obama from exacting the real tyrrany he wants to impose on the American people by handing our nation over to foreign enemies IMO

They have to be removed if it takes all the HE the FBI can scrounge up and every building is obliterated completely. The people need to feel safe in their homes!

If it were a liberal group “occupying”, that is what many would be calling for.

Yes, in a nutshell, the BLM had ruined all the surrounding ranches and bought them up cheaply. They had their sights on the Hammond ranch and used a trumped up arson charge to put them in jail, twice.

The Hammonds should not be going to prison. This is a travesty.

If you can't do the time don't do the crime.
