The lake of fire is real but it burns you up forever, it doesn’t burn forever.
Meaning the fire is not put out til your gone. It does not mean there is a place that fire burns forever.
The day of judgement comes and those of us that believe rise to meet him in the air and the rest are burned up; permanently gone forever.
that’s actually what the Bible says; there is no day of judgement until Christ’s return so no one is in heaven until then. Then, on that day, like the parable of the wheat and the tares, we are harvested at once where the believers rise and non believers perish.
>>>> Hell is literally the removal and absense of God.
>> I agree. People donât literally burn.
It’s far worse than that ...
You should read the Bible. God is in hell:
:...If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. (Revelation 14:9-11)
The Lamb (God incarnate) is in hell tormenting with fire and brimstone the unsaved FOREVER.
There is no physical separation from God in hell. His presense is the source of the torment:
"In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;" (2 Thess 1:8,9)
Many modern translations translate [apo] with the sense of separation. But the correct translation is SOURCE. The everlasting destruction comes from God himself, his presense and his glory will torment the unsaved eternally.
Nothing could be worse than being separated from God. That was my point.
Hell is an event where the non believer is destroyed by fire and forever separate from God. That’s it. There is no fire that burns endlessly. Why would that be needed? Thrown in the fire, burned up, gone.
