I'm told that the tickets are sold out for the first Iowa event today. I can't tell if the seating will be in the expo hall or the beautiful small theater, hopefully both.
There will be several live threads of the event. Usually the best one is out of Fox Phoenix which I will post below for you.
Many of us here have coalesced to watch the Trump rallys together, instead alone. The commentary has been lively and fun. This will be one of the few that takes place in the day time, usually they're in the evening. In fact, Trump appears later in the day, @ 4pm in Clear Lake.
How does he do this? This man is as old as Bill Clinton, but look at this schedule?
â¢Ottumwa, IA - Jan 9, 2016 â¢Clear Lake, IA - Jan 9, 2016 â¢Reno, NV - Jan 10, 2016 â¢Windham, NH - Jan 11, 2016 â¢Cedar Falls, Iowa - Jan 12, 2016 â¢Pensacola, FL - Jan 13, 2016 â¢FOX Business GOP Debate, SC - Jan 14, 2016 â¢Liberty U, VA - Jan 18, 2016
Here's a little background on Ottumwa, Iowa.
Ottumwa is the City of Bridges.

I love saying the name, Ottumwa. Originally called Appanoose Rapids, the name was changed to Louisville and Ottumwanoc before being shortened to Ottumwa. Ottumwa is said to be derived from an Algonquian (Fox) word meaning ârippling waters,â although it may simply mean âtown.â
Meatpacking and the manufacture of farm equipment are the chief industries. Ottumwa has a campus of Indian Hills Community College (1966). The cityâs former airport is the site of the Airpower Museum, which displays a large collection of antique airplanes and artifacts from early aviation. Lake Wapello State Park is to the southwest near Drakesville, and the house that was used for Grant Woodâs painting American Gothic (1930) is in Eldon to the southeast. Inc. town, 1851; city, 1857. Pop. (2000) 24,998; (2010) 25,023.
Did you know that it's the "Video Game Capital of the World"
As the home of Twin Galaxies, Ottumwa was proclaimed the "Video Game Capital of the World" by a mayoral decree issued on November 30, 1982, by Ottumwa Mayor Jerry Parker. The city's proclamation was recognized by U.S. Senator Charles Grassley. In connection with this proclamation, the city hosted the first North American Video Olympics in the fall of 1982.
I think Trump comes here because you have 950 John Deere and 2500 Swift and Company workers here.
Actor, Tom Arnod, is from Ottumwa.
On Feb 1st, you have to get to that caucus, bring your friends....one of the most elections of our lives.....chance to make America greater and better than ever before!
C’mon, Iowa!!! You know what to do....GOTV for Trump!
I don’t think you can buy it—it was a one off that Jimmy Kimmel’s writers made for Trump
I think it would actually be a great book for kids—what’s wrong with being a winner?
It’s the American Way!
ARe there any IOwa Freepers out there? I’m sure they’re more for Cruz than Trump, but give us your take?
Iowa, is really different no doubt. Look at this rally. It quiet, respectful, sober. But Trump plays here and the east.
I’m on the other side of the state, on the Missouri ... I can see Omaha from my front porch , LOL
What do I think about the crowd, or what? Not sure what you were discussing ...
That was a great speech!! Go TRUMP!!
You are a really good typist—fast, too!!!!!
Jane is right folks—Iowa get out and vote in the caucuses and let’s start the march to make America great—AGAIN!!!!!
Great speech with passion. Other candidate speaks as they standing in front of Judge and lie depending on client they are representing.
+1
I am hearing great applause and shouts!
Wanted your take. You’re a transplant, but the crowd was really subdued.
Trump is great. He is totally himself.
I mean, all the others fly in, in their Brooks Bros suits, then change their clothes to flannel and blue jeans. Trump is Trump
I love the guy.
Okay two more hours and we’re in Clear Lake... See you all then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, I thought the crowd was great! So much better than the NH crowd the other night, they were duds I thought ~
These are farmers ... Iowans by nature are pretty low key, especially farmers ;)
Meant to ping you to post #171
I don’t think I’ve ever been this jacked about a candidate in my life time. I mean I loved REagan even as governor of California, and there after. You just knew he was a man of destiny.
Trump the same. How can these egg heads like George Will and this Kirstin Powers, who last week AGIAN predict that someone else will win the nom, why? Get this...
“Because republicans will come to their senses.”
This shows how utterly stupid these people are.
I would wager a year’s salary that 90% of Trump supporters are committed, and are not changing their vote. No way, where as the others are about 25% committed will change in a heart beat.
Cruz the best, a great man and frankly I think Trump needs him to win big, but I don’t think Cruz’s people are as committed.
Thank you.
It’s an auditorium and no doubt is designed acoustically so that the sound of the audience is not heard or distractive to the remander of the audience.
Best presentation yet. Geared to the people of IOWA who have heard his “stump” material before. Tonight’s may be similar as most won’t make the trip to hear him speak two times in one day
I agree.
Folks instinctively know this election is for the marbles.
A guy like Trump comes along one time in 40 years or so.
He can actually unite the whole country and do what he says he will do.
The caucus results are going to be real different this year in Iowa.
I for one will totally enjoy seeing the pundits with egg on their faces come 2/2/16.
RUSH: Let me grab Paul in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Paul, I’m glad you called. Welcome.
CALLER: Thank you, Rush. I’m a white, blue-collar, conservative union member, and I’m voting for Donald Trump if I have to write him in on Election Day. My differences between the Democrats and the Republicans are irreconcilable. There’s nothing that the establishment, non-producing class can do to cause me to vote for them ever again.
RUSH: Really?
CALLER: Nothing.
lRUSH: Ever?
CALLER: Irreconcilable.
RUSH: Yeah?
CALLER: If you are an establishment, politically correct Republican or Democrat, our differences are irreconcilable. The Republicans are politically correct. The establishment Republicans are politically correct cowards, and all they’re interested in is maintaining their own political power.
RUSH: Let me ask you this quickly before I have to go: Is there anything Trump could do to lose your support?
CALLER: Become an establishment Republican.
RUSH: (laughing) Yeah. (laughing) Good answer. I set myself up for that. There you have it. I don’t know how big of an example that is, but it makes my point that Trump has a bond with his voters and supporters out there that I don’t think your average political consultant or even candidate understands. I don’t think they understand the bond, and they don’t know how to deal with it as such. Thank you, Paul.
