According to a comment by a local reader the author has previously convicted of DUI. If the purpose of her list is for the children’s safety why isn’t she demanding a registry for the addresses of convicted drunk drivers?
When she starts to play the game by all the rules, fine. Till then, to paraphrase a line I once heard, “What Ms. Bishop has said is unimportant and we do not hear her words.”...

Gun parts are interchangeable. The “fingerprint” characteristics also change over time.

Fingerprinting weapons at manufacture would be worthless, in the long run.

Consider that if the barrels between two similar weapons are exchanged, the bullet would match the donor gun, while the casing would match the weapon used, unless of course the firing pin was changed or had significant wear and tear. The donor barrel, then, becomes the more distinguishing characteristic, while not being part of the crime.

My thoughts exactly.

Lets have the “responsibility in journalism act”.

License journalist and if their reports turn out to be false pull their license to be a journalist.

We could even do the same with newspapers and broadcast news.

Canada tried it. It was an expensive, disastrous failure.
The Baltimore Sun knows this.

Concur that she does have those peculiar "crazy eyes" often observed in bizarre hardcore liberals.

The Government has enough data on us already. ANY registry such as this is an infringement on the “right to keep and bear arms.” Yes, this is the first step to confiscation and the left wing commie bastard’s mouth is watering over the chance to do it on his watch. He has the manpower and is planning this as we sit and wait. MOLON LABE!

A registry is the first step toward confiscation.
I’m sure Mr. Hitler and Mr. Stalin would approve.

He has a point but. . . I think we should have a data base on liberals. So we will know who to target (literally) in the coming years. We will match your data base against ours.
I am not interested in the normal everyday stupid democrat that vote by bumper sticker mentality. No just the really dangerous ones who know what the current democratic party is made up of and knows what the real agenda is. It will make the round up, trails and executions for treason a lot quicker and more efficient.

"I know how to stay out of the line of Baltimore's illegal gunfire; I have the luxury of being white and middle class in a largely segregated city that reserves most of its shootings for poor, black neighborhoods overtaken by "the game.""

That's mighty white of you, Tricia.

How about registering illegal immigrants?
How about registering all racists?
How about registering all left handed people?
How about registering all people who disagree with Obama’s administration and dare to voice it in public?
How about using empty Football Stadiums for detaining and interrogating the enemies of the state?

This could be the start of a “post Russian revolution” society! Get those “Black Marias” ready, we'll need to transport millions to the Gulags.

Open those eyes folks, the plan was started even before 2008. BHO’s election was the seal on the deal.

Okay. Step one, enter the name and location of every gang member and convicted felon. Enter every other gun owner only after that first task is done.

I think we need a liberal database. When a liberal moves into the neighborhood, they should have to go door to door and tell everyone that they voted for Obama. Twice.

I have known people with guns all of my life, and I am 76.

None of them have killed anyone. NONE OF THEM.

Ted Kennedy killed a woman with his Oldsmobile.

Should all people who own Oldsmobiles be on a database for doing so?

The more these Liberals push, the more there will be PUSHBACK. When that pushback comes, they won’t like it one little bit.

How about a database of all the Liberals advocating for such gun registration and then we all can BOYCOTT them-—every way, every day-—Do not hire them-—Do not do any business with them-—do not give them any support or shelter. NOTHING.
