I think part of it is that people love to be entertained and a crowd loves a crowd. But when it comes to handing over the keys to the USA, the numbers will be a lot smaller than current popularity and polling indicate.
The sad part is that Cruz is painted as some kind of back bencher, far right, wacko, but none of his ideas are very radical at all. Uphold the Constitution, protect the country, keep Americans working instead of importing foreigners, get the budget under control. Whoa, what a bunch of scary ideas.
The same people complained about Newt Gingrich, and we ended up with a balanced budget and welfare reform.
LOL, I so hope he keeps this up.
The other day a Trumpster argued that Cruz was a poor choice because he couldn’t even get along with his colleagues in the Senate.
I asked WHY she thought that was the case, but I never got a response.

Donald speaks the truth, Ted Cruz is hated by everybody who wants to see the continued destruction of our Constitutional Republic, Trumps liberal roots are showing brightly the only question is will he continue to try and tuck those roots under, that is very hard to do once they been so liberally exposed.
Saying “everyone hates Ted” and calling a competitor “a very nasty guy” are examples of thinking way above most people? I’m sorry, but I heard a more elevated discourse in my Cub Scout den!

That’s a bombastic buffoon. Trump calling Senator Cruz “a very nasty guy” is more like he is describing himself.
Come November, no matter who are the nominees, the dems will be wiped out by 8 years of US history’s worst Constitutional and citizen abuse by nobama peeing in America’s well for the sake of allah and soros.”

There was even a pathetic hit on Trump’s age. Cruz is punching way above his level. He already just about got KOed in a “youth and inexperience” moment when he doubled down on his NY values statement at the debate.
Both Cruz’s and Trump’s speeches are on the link on that thread. I watched both. Ted’s hit parts are sad, and the crowd response is weak compared to Trump’s. Ted hit on Trump for WAY longer than the 35 seconds Trump talked about Ted. Trump was direct and factual, Ted was not.

When Beck and Cruz organized the teddy bear/soccer ball/foreign invader welcoming party, they put out a press release stating Mike Lee would be there with them. It took Lee’s office a New York minute to disavow that one.
A leader needs followers. Does Cruz really have that many?
Are you kidding? Deals is how we wind up with 6000 page legislation.
We need principles.
At this point, I’d take NO legislation and laissez faire executive branch over over current process.
kabar just pointed out to me that Cruz is now working with Seantor Jeff Sessions on immigration reform. That’s the same senator Trump worked with on immigration.
So ... there’s a senate leader Cruz gets along with well enough.

D Trump SAYS “Everybody hates Ted” and he wants me to vote for him, but just qualified me as not part of “everybody”, thus “nobody”.
Hmm.
Trump is not conservative. He is somewhat fiscally conservative (on the record for wanting to make imports compete with domestic products by fair pricing via tariffs) and talks a good “Make America great again” game, however he is pro-choice, pro disarm the public, pro homosexual, etc. He now SAYS he is pro 2A, anti abortion, and talks about his “Christian values” and he SAYS he will build a wall on the Mexican border and halt the immigration of muslims, so long time conservatives rally behind him as though he is conservative. He is peddling “Hope and Change”.
He is just as conservative as Awnuld was in CA, where conservatives rallied behind him instead of Tom McClintock who was the real conservative in the recall election of Gray Davis, because he had an “R” next to his name and “He’s the one who can win”. Where had conservatives voted for McClintock, California would have elected a conservative while the left’s votes were split between Schwartzenegger, Bustamante and Davis. BTW, the first bill the Hollywood tough guy signed into law was a ban on .50 cal centerfires.
Looks like the same thing going on here.
I think Cruz set himself up to be duped by the turtle just so he could call him a liar.

I expected this: Trump is a RINO, next, Trump is a Nazi. Trump is a Liberal, Trump is a communists. etc... All to “nail Trump” If this works Ted Cruz will be the new Mittens, McCain, Dole—set up to give the White House to Obama’s 3rd Term.
