Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump doubled down on his attacks on Sen. Ted Cruz, saying, “Everybody hates Ted.”
Appearing on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends” on Monday, Trump said “it is true, he [Cruz] is very unpopular in Washington.”...
“I have to do what I have to do,” he said, referring to his attacks on Cruz. “You know, I want to make America great again. I have to get things done. When you have somebody that can’t get along with anybody in Washington, you’re not going to get deals done. I mean, you have to get deals done. We can’t always keep invoking executive orders like Obama does because he can’t get deals,” Trump argued....
“You know, here’s another guy who can’t get a deal done so he sits behind a desk signs an executive order, he gets sued and let’s see what happens in five years from now, OK? But that’s not the way do you it. You get Congress, you get them together, you get everybody together in a room, you cajole, you get along, you have dinner and you make deals. And you know everybody hates Ted. It’s a very tough thing. They all hate him for a lot of reasons, but they all hate him. And by the way he’s attacked me so when he attacks me as you know I’m a counter puncher,” Trump insisted....

Why do we need to get deals done with the other side? This is the same ole crap we already have!
I thought the whole idea was to tear the whole son-of-a-bitch down!
You hate Reagan.
While to date Ted Cruz shows himself to be one of the few true conservatives in either the house or senate. That being said, I have several reservations to giving him my primary vote.
1) I do not believe that he meets the requirement of a natural born citizen.
2) His wifes strong ties to the CFR.
3) Goldman Sachs
4) Just another politician in the pocket of big money donors.
5) Just flat out tired of politicians saying whatever to get your vote just to watch them get said vote and end up betrayed.
Trump certainly isn’t perfect but I do believe he is perfect for the time.
1) I believe that the biggest pressing isssue will be “the economy stupid!”. And I trust Trump business sense to deal with that.
2) Most of us have long known or felt that political correctness was a slippery slope of bullshit. I love that Trump isn’t afraid to shun the PC and call a spade a spade.
3) He’s 100% American capitolist that undeniably loves this country and his motivation to risk and spend his own money to save it.
Schwarzenegger said the same thing when he governed California. Promised to reign in the girly-men and then reached across the aisle to “deal” California further into debt.
As the #DemDebate begins, Republicans have to wonder which team @realDonaldTrump would play for: https://t.co/z7cGOQy0Hl

Deals are what has made Congress work since the institution of our country. Thomas Jefferson and John Adams were mortal enemies until much later in life when thy became good friends. Deals are what the RINOS in Congress are NOT making. They are simply voting with the Democrats on anything Obama wants. DEALS are a negotiating tool which results in some good for each party. That is not what we have now. The setup in Washington now is a uniparty where there is a one way flow of all the votes regardless of the party label. Trump can fix this and bring some balance back to negotiating that Cruz will never acquire in his lifetime. Cruz may be smart in his legal circle, but he is dumber than hell in the real world.
I have always voted Republican in national elections since I turned 21 (aka The Stone Age). As of yet I haven’t decided who I’m going to give my most precious possession (my vote) to this time. I have watched the “Trump Show” for many years, and while I enjoy watching him give the GOPe a good case of the “redass”, I just keep getting the feeling that he isn’t to be trusted. He is a businessman, and in his own words it’s all about “the deal”. So what if Iran, China, Russia, etc. make him an offer he can’t refuse? Where will that leave us?
What do you call an international treaty if not a “Deal?” What do you call Trade Deals if not a Deal? Rather short sighted aren’t you? I want someone who can negotiate in America’s favor and stop giving away the whole country because he is too weak and/or stupid to negotiate and WIN.
I agree. Someone on this forum have been saying that for a long time. Every time Cruz was mentioned for president they would pipe in that he wasn’t eligible. If I was Cruz, I would have gotten out in front of that question a long time ago, not now on the campaign trail. That is his own fault. Why did he not use the time given at the debate to address the issue and explain his eligibility as he saw it. Instead of going after others for questioning it. Brings back to many BO arguments. I personally think he is scared of the issue, which he should be, and doesn’t know really where he stands legally on the issue.
So, LBJ is your favorite president?
Trump’s core principle is to fight for what is best for America. You have your priorities backwards.
Good analogy.....just throw in the whole of the Clintons and you have a Trump....
LBJ and the Clintons destroy their enemies......I'm sure when they said to staff: Take care of them.... the staff knew what was meant.
Beginning to see this trait in Trump at the rallies now. Get rid of them, Get em' outta here, don't pay the SOB's, take his coat, and this is mild stuff said in public.
I am beginning to think that Trump considers the WHOLE of America as his Apprentice Show.....
PS: love your tagline.
With Russia making their long-awaited move to basically restore the Soviet Union, and then-some with the addition of the Middle East, Trump is about the last person that should be in the White House. At best, he's dangerously naive. At worst, in cahoots with Putin and his 'new world order' plans.
Won’t.
Trump has said he will bring America “BACK INTO THE CONSTITUTION.” Seems to me he believes in the Constitution and intends to follow it instead of bypass it which has become so popular in Washington by both parties.
And sucking up to an enemy like Putin is one of those things that is "best for America", eh?
TRUMP: Vladimir Putin's praise is 'a great honor'
Business Insider ^ | December 17, 2015 | By Maxwell Tani
Republican US presidential front-runner Donald Trump is apparently "honored" that Russian President Vladimir Putin considers the real-estate magnate a "flamboyant" and "very talented" man.
"It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond," Trump said in a statement, according to Politico.
He continued: "I have always felt that Russia and the United States should be able to work well with each other towards defeating terrorism and restoring world peace, not to mention trade and all of the other benefits derived from mutual respect."

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Russia's push into Ukraine has put many on edge. But less known is that Russia is also strengthening its military links south of the Rio Grande and re-establishing itself as a power in the region.
Vladimir Putin has been strengthening military links here, and Russia is now the largest arms dealer to governments in Latin America, surpassing the United States.
Russia has even floated the possibility of building new military bases in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, and putting its warships permanently in the Caribbean.
In the midst of the Ukraine crisis, Russia's top diplomat Sergei Lavrov recently visited Cuba, Peru, Chile, and Nicaragua, where he announced that Russia would also pour money into the new Central American canal project. ..."

Russia agreed to provide military training for three leftist regimes in Latin America and increase military visits and exercises following a visit last week to the region by Moscow's Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, Pentagon officials said.
Shoygu met with defense and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua and signed several agreements on warship visits and military training during the visit, which ran from Feb. 11 to 14. It is not clear whether any new arms deals were completed during the visit.
Defense officials said the Russian leader is seeking bases in the region for strategic bomber flights that Shoygu recently promised would include flights over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

" Trump's relationship with Russia goes far back. In 1987, before the collapse of the Soviet Union, he was meeting with Soviet officials and negotiating the building of "luxury hotels" in Moscow and Leningrad .
A story at the time said Trump had met Soviet Ambassador Yuri Dubinin, who mentioned how much his daughter had admired the "opulent" Trump Tower in New York City. This led to an invitation to Trump to visit the USSR. The story said Dubinin wrote a letter to Trump, who hosted a meeting with Soviet officials in New York.
The invitation to Moscow was issued by Intourist, the giant Soviet in-country travel organization which operated all the hotels for foreigners in the Soviet Union.
Intourist was created in 1929 by Joseph Stalin and run by KGB officials. Intourist hotels were designed for wealthy foreigners, and virtually all the Intourist guides were KGB informers. In fact, one aspect of their jobs was the recruitment of foreigners. ..."
"...we are left thinking [whether] Trump understands the aggressive intentions of Vladimir Putin.
"...when Trump was asked about the nuclear balance with Russia during the most recent Republican presidential debate, he displayed ignorance of the decaying nature of the U.S. nuclear triad, which constitutes our ability to deter and survive a Russian nuclear first strike.
"Putin has just presided over a ceremony honoring the KGB's successor agencies, and the Russia Today (RT) propaganda channel has announced the grand opening of a "cultural center" dedicated to mass murderer Joseph Stalin.
It looks like Putin has outmaneuvered Obama and Trump. It is an opening for Trump's opponents, especially Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL). But do they have the courage to "follow the money" and hold Trump accountable for doing business with a criminal regime that threatens the survival of the United States? At the end of this money trail, they may find an explanation of why Trump is so reluctant to hold Putin responsible for his crimes.
