Cruz: Establishment Has Abandoned Rubio for Trump
National Review ^

Posted on 01/20/2016 4:19:24 PM PST by springwater13

Yes, you read that right. According to Ted Cruz, the so-called Republican establishment is abandoning Florida senator Marco Rubio and uniting behind real-estate mogul Donald Trump. Cruz has long said the Republican primary would come down to two candidates, one a conservative, the other an establishment moderate.

Now that Cruz and Trump are leading the polls, he's trying his hardest to paint Trump as the latter. "We're seeing something remarkable happening in this Republican primary," the Texas senator told reporters on Wednesday. "Right now, the Washington establishment is abandoning Marco Rubio, they’ve made the assessment that Marco can’t win this race, and the Washington establishment is rushing over to support Donald Trump. We're seeing that happen every day, and Mr. Trump is welcoming that support."

In Iowa, Ted Cruz’s endorsements far outweigh Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Trump. Its not even close.

You will need to ask the Freeper who posted the original
comment. He is better suited to answer, since he suggested
Cruz met with house members and got Bonehead fired.

Is this the same TPA that has been around for 80 years that you claim Cruz got started?

“Cruz is pigeon-holding himself as the extremist religious right-wing candidate. So extreme he says the establishment is dumping Rubio and siding with Trump after 7 months of trashing Trump more than any candidate has been trashed before.”

Trump is an outsider. He is not, nor has he ever been, a conservative.

The GOPe and Trump will come to terms in a New York minute. And lots of Dems in Congress and elsewhere will support Trump's New York values - err, I mean, Trump's moderate values.

Logically, you have to ask yourself, if it has been around for 80 years, what was the controversy about?

If it is so GOOD for the United States, why did Obama press for it so hard? We know that Obama has the best interest of the United States in his heart.

This present version was needed to pass TPP, which is kept top secret and has not been voted on yet. It is a treaty and Constitutionally, a treaty requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate. TPA enables TPP to pass with fifty-one votes, with LITTLE debate and no changes. Thank you Mr. Constitution Cruz. TPP will effectively end American sovereignty. Rush Limbaugh called TPA a disaster. Why? So did Mark Levin. They both called the Corker bill a disaster, the bill that was written by the White House and voted for by Cruz.

“Everybody and their Momma keeps screaming about how Trump has a liberal past, donated to Democrats, in pictures with the Clintons, etc. But everything he has said has been as a private citizen.”

Oh, private citizen. Well that makes all the difference.

First thing on their agenda will be a touch back amnesty for 10 or 15 million. Eventually they agree to citizenship.

Then it will be on to replacing judges and SC judges. No way they pick originalists.

Bible thumpers will ride Cruze as he goes down in flames, and the Establishment will use Cruz as a battering ram to take down Trump. Amazing how stupid many Republicans are.

You go ahead and support your “moderate” candidate, I’m a hard right conservative, so Ted’s my guy.
__________________________________________________________

I’m a Cruzer too. I dont even consider Trump as a moderate. Trump has A LOT of liberal baggage and if Cruz does not hitting him on it hard then Hillary or Sanders will in the general. If Trump wins the nom, I just cant make up my mind to vote for him or not. I may just write Cruz in.

I’m THIS far from writing in Cruz as well. Trump has been so disappointing lately.

The Natinal Review is Establiment

Not Cruz you sided with the Establishment, and it’s why you changed your position on the NSA spying.

This is called desperation, folks. Cruz is pigeon-holding himself as the extremist religious right-wing candidate.

No my FRiend, that is called telling the truth. Something quite a few Trump supporters seems to be afraid of.

There just aren't that many hard right conservatives in the party to elect him.

I'm still for Cruz, but he seems to be faltering, and your analysis is right.

What purpose is served by electing a republican to advance the democrat agenda?

How does advancing the democrat agenda help the country when the democrat agenda is what got us in the mess we are in?

Trump’s touchback amnesty isn’t going to get Americans working again.
