Limbaugh: ‘Trump Coalition’ an Offshoot of the Tea Party Movement
Breitbart ^ | 1/21/2016 | JEFF POOR

Posted on 01/21/2016 8:52:23 PM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

On his Thursday broadcast, conservative talk show Rush Limbaugh offered his analysis what has led certain elements to gravitate toward Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, including former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK), the 2008 GOP vice-presidential nominee.

According to Limbaugh, what he deemed to be the "Trump Coalition" predated the Trump's presidential bid and its roots lie in the Tea Party movement that was inspired by President Barack Obama's stimulus and later by his so-called health care reform legislation, later to be known as ObamaCare.

"Guess where they are now? They're with Donald Trump," Limbaugh said.

Transcript as follows (courtesy of RushLimbaugh.com):

You know, this business of the glue. That's what I refer to. The glue that is holding Trump coalition together. This actually predates the Trump campaign. This goes back to who the Tea Party is, if you want to know the truth about it, folks. Everybody made the mistake of thinking when the Tea Party erupted out of nowhere -- and let's not forget -- by the way, by the way, welcome back. Rush Limbaugh. Great to have you here at the EIB Network at 800-282-2882.

Let's not forget, the Tea Party was not the result of some strategic plan launched by somebody out of nowhere. It was a spontaneous eruption of mostly people that had never been professionally, formally involved in politics before. It dates to the Obama stimulus deal in 2009 but really began to coalesce with Obamacare. Those two things sent the big message to the Tea Party people, what would become known as the Tea Party people. That is, there was no longer any concern for what this government was spending. There was no longer any concern for the danger that that was going to cause.

>> never blaming Bushie and his ‘New World Order’ Rinos.

Not true. To the contrary, he often takes issue with the family’s liberalism; however, he also makes the point that, on a personal level, they’re a wonderful family that’s been very kind to him.

Tea Party was stymied by GOPee at every turn...now we will win with Trump party!

I distinctly remember Mitch McConnel saying they had to marginalize the TEA party before they got to Washington. Then there is the claim that he was going to punch the TEA party in the nose.

Newt had enough juice to win the SC primary, but that was it.

Newt had plenty of Juice, but he shut himself down, one can only speculate as to why, he could not have not known why he surged in the polls after smacking down the media.

Rush has been highly critical of the GOP; repeatedly noting that, despite being given Congressional majorities in the last couple of elections, they have steadfastly ignored their voters and capitulated to Obama.

This is a very interesting observation.

I subscribe to a lot of people on YouTube that fall right into that category.

They are pro 2nd amendment
Anti-feminist
Anti-free trade
Against fiat currency
Many are atheists
Very anti-Islam
Are completely against SJWs, BLM, and Progressives
Not fans of either party

They are absolutely singing Trumps praises, or at least are very warm to him because he makes them comfortable being “right of center” without having to be seen as taking orders from talk radio because they value their independence that much.

What happened, at less on FR, was that he was declared to be not a “true conservative”, and the push was on to tout Rick Santorum, a guy with the charisma of wet cardboard, but went to church a lot....which matter far more, I guess.

Romney’s negative ad push in Florida plus the right shooting itself in the head, stopped Newt and handed Mitt the win.

Absolutely it was Rick Santelli and I remember it well. Hopefully someone has the tape of that memorable moment.

Actually, it was Rick Santelli, of CNBC who first called for a Tea Party, in opposition to 0bi's first stimulus/bail out.

Bump. Watershed moment.
