Trump: I Have a ‘Really Good Chance of Winning New York’
Breitbart ^ | 01/22/16 | Pam Key

Thursday on Fox News Channel's "Hannity," Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he had a shot at winning New York State, to which he said would clinch the presidency for him over Hillary Clinton.

Trump said, "Well, I think I'm not only more electable, I think I'll win the election. You saw the fox poll last week saying I beat Hillary Clinton and I think I will beat any one of them. I think she's probably more difficult than wacky Bernie and I think I will beat them. I will just beat them. As an example, I think I'll win Pennsylvania. I think I'll win Ohio. You saw my numbers in Florida where I am beating everybody. I'm at 48% and Bush and -- who is a former governor is like at 9% or 10%. Rubio, the senator -- I'm at 48% in Florida. Plus I employ tremendous numbers of people in Florida. Florida loves Trump and I love Florida so I think I'm going to win Florida. I think I have a really good chance of winning New York. If we win New York, the whole ball game is over because nobody even ever anticipates winning New York because it's so powerful in terms of the process we are talking about. West Virginia, I heard it is like a love fest. Because they understand my feeling toward coal and everything else. But West Virginia, Virginia, I think I'm going to win states that are not on the agenda for Republicans to win."

I don’t know if that will happen, I would agree that he has a chance to do that.

Listening to Rush? He’s still moving toward really explaining this, but is closer today. I see him struggling between head (Cruz) and heart (Trump).

Yes he does. Trump’s support among African Americans is at about 20%. That number is so well established that it is not even challenged anymore. With that 20% and a reported and very believable 20% enthusiasm gap between Democrats and Republicans plus Trump’s personal popularity in New York City and the Republican streak upstate AND the collar countries around the City all add up to a Trump victory in New York State.
BTW NONE of those factors work in any other candidate’s favor.

NY liberals will vote for a NY liberal. Is it surprising?

Cruz made this possible.

NY was cheering, en masse, TRUMP’s instinctive response to Ted, on behalf of all New Yorkers whom Ted had so carelessly denigrated. That may have been the turning point, when TRUMP won New York.

Unbelievable opportunity, here, for a pick up.

It certainly didn’t hurt Trump. Cruz should never have gone there. The amusing and ironic thing is Cruz is running non-stop radio ads in my NY/NJ market!

If they call New York for Trump, I'm going to bed. That's it. It's over.

I agree. If NY is in play for Trump, there will be a host of other blue states that will be too. If true, Hildabeast is cooked.

<<< “ The amusing and ironic thing is Cruz is running non-stop radio ads in my NY/NJ market!” >>>

How appropriate. Cruz spends money to prayerfully repair the hole he just blew in his own foot. OUCH.

It is, as you say, mm, “amusing” and very “ironic”. (From the smartest man in the room, right?)

Plus, he’s blowing his cash too early in a market he is too late ever to get.

Rush is struggling to remain neutral.

Hard job, and I respect him for his efforts.

It will become easier as the next few weeks begin to resolve the issue.

Honestly, I’m not sure that money is an object, right now, for Tedlit, and if that is correct, he must surely recognize he’s inside of a mid-air stall here, and a downward spiral there, therefore, he is throwing everything he’s got into trying stay relevant.

All this just to get through IOWA, limping. I don’t get the money on NY, but someone up there on Wall Street must know it’s bad and is cash cowing some repair. Cruz would never take New York anyway, not with his narrow message to only Evangelicals. imho.

Please, keep us posted! I had no idea he was yakking it up on radio there, in ads.

He didn't shoot a hole in his foot nationwide. The media is NY-centric so of course they went bonkers. Here in Georgia, we don't identify with NY values, and I doubt they care much for them in Virginia, Missouri, Wisconsin or even Illinois (all places where I've lived). In CT (where I grew up) it is a 50-50 split, largely dependent on family, baseball loyalty, and county.

The money being spent is most likely by a Cruz PAC, not Cruz' own campaign. They may also be national ads which get the whole country, including NY/NJ.

Cruz can read a a calendar, and the NY primary isn't up for some time. Right now, Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, and the SEC states are what's going to shape this election.
