Some news to report out of Las Vegas where Donald Trump sat down with Field & Stream magazine for an interview during the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s annual SHOT Show.

First up, the GOP front-runner came out against letting states control public lands now run by the federal government saying, “I don’t like the idea because I want to keep the lands great, and you don’t know what the state is going to do."

He'll be asking the Sierra Club for an endorsement next.

That’s OK. I bet they’ve already asked him for money.

Yep, can’t trust those states to take of their own property.
As my stomach churns.

He’s a knee jerk liberal. He has to work hard at pretending to be a conservative. But this election is about emotions. He’s THE ONE.

Anyone here think state governments are less corrupt and more efficient than the federal government? Annapolis, DC, Sacramento, Austin - I repeat - Austin?

Our Natianal Parks are a great heritage. BLM lands - well, there is some room for negotiation.

Immigration and Political correctness are his issues. Just look at the pushback over the lack of black oscar nominees. Trump doesn’t have anything to do with it?

I didn’t realize there was a Conservative rational for big federal government control of all those lands. As a general rule private is better than government ownership and state ownership better than federal ownership.

If he were to choose Cruz as vp, I would worry less about him straying due to simple ignorance.

He’ll figure it out. But it still worries me that he has this tendency.

Picking Cruz as vp early also makes them a team. As such, the establishment would have to defeat them as a team instead of one by one.

Okay, if not Trump who you got?

I like Cruz but he has very little chance. He just doesn’t have the personality. Yeah, I said it. I could tolerate his personality but that’s not the average American. The average American is stupid and will not put him in office.

After Cruz, who you have? Carson? He’s a nutcase on so many issues. Rubio? Mr. Amnesty?

If not Trump, who that can WIN?

I don’t think his supporters can hear you. They’re too busy herding Levin, Limbaugh, Sowell, Bozell and co. into the RINO/GOPe bus.

Yeah, sure, if you say so.

And all past presidents were liberals also because none of them turned over the federal lands to the states.

Wrong answer McFry.

Trump needs to really understand the depths of unconstitutionality the feds have plumbed including unconstitutionally commandeering state lands outside of the guidelines of Article I, Section 8, Clause 17.

Those lands constitutionally BELONG to the states NOT to the feds.

Mr. Trump, America’s greatness is in the AMERICAN PEOPLE and their freedom to govern themselves individually and locally which includes state governance. America’s greatness is NOT in the unconstitutional federal government which is expressly limited by the Constitution.

Not much different than Reagan:

http://www.weeklystandard.com/reagan-the-environmentalist/article/733961

“A classic example of Reagan’s approach can be found in the Coastal Barrier Resources Act, which the president signed in 1982. The law established the Coastal Barrier Resources System (CBRS), a zone that today encompasses 273 million acres of land (an area larger than all but one national park in the lower 48 states) in which federal subsidies to new development—notably, subsidies for roads, housing, and flood insurance—are forbidden. Private interests may still develop the land but must do so without a penny of federal money. It is estimated the law has saved taxpayers

$1 billion since its enactment.”

For some reason Regan didn’t turn over the Nat. parks to the states. Why, I dont know. So this isn’t a simple case of Do A = Real conservative, do B = Not.

I can only assume we have a similar interview for Cruz available from this publication?

Trump is not running for king or dictator. Any divestiture of federal land would have to be driven by the Congress. This posting is irrelevant and intended to incite. It’s just more anti Trump garbage.
