Breitbart.com ^ | January 23, 2016 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 01/23/2016 9:33:37 AM PST by Biggirl

On Friday’s “The Five,” panelist Jesse Watters questioned the critics of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump who voiced their concerns about the candidate in a so-called manifesto about Trump published in the latest issue of National Review. Watters said Trump has qualities beyond conservative ideology that make him appealing as the eventual GOP nominee.

The marxists have had control of public education and higher Ed. There are generations that don’t know American history or even where Mt. Rushmore is. This damage to the people of the country will take time to correct.

Agreed. And first of all, NR is almost all NWO globalist neocon all the time. All of the 22 authors have been just fine with the 3rd world flood. But for the sake of argument.

Before any conservative vs liberal fights, the border MUST be secured. Without that, the rest doesn’t matter because the influx will vote for liberalism.
And anyway, there is nothing conservative about the open borders Bush era.

“Conservatives are being asked to line up behind a guy who’s been a liberal Democrat virtually his entire adult life, and if you don’t support this liberal Democrat, well that just proves you’re a RINO”

And conservatives are being asked to line up behind all the rest of the candidates who are good republicans, and have consistently turned a blind eye to the open border. This includes soccer ball border greeter “welcome to America” Cruz.

Good question and I would hypothesize that no a pure conservative as the term is now defined by that wing of the Republican party cannot win a general election.

If Ronald Reagan were running this year half the Freepers would be calling him a RINO.

The lefties have Bernie Sanders.

Who do we have on our side to face him?

What extreme rightwing conservative can beat him?

Is Cruz rightwing enough? Rubio? Bush?

That seems to be what true conservatives who understand principles over politics, want. Who are they suggesting embodies principles over all else?

idk. Looking for answers!

RNC spokesman Sean Spicer told Buzzfeed that National Review was removed from the debate because the moderators "can't have a predisposition."

National Review: RNC Booted Us From GOP Debate Over Anti-Trump Issue

Seriously, the publication came out, and with one voice said it was opposed to Trump. That roughly destroys the pretense of objectivism that news purveyors claim to possess. NR expected to be cut-off from being associated with the debate. It's a badge of honor to them.

Posted for others, because you think NR should be allowed to regulate a debate where they openly have the long knives out for one of the participants.

We've elected over 900+ Republicans since Obama took office and they haven't done diddly squat.

I don't care how 'pure' they sound when talking about protecting our borders or about keeping government small... If they don't DO anything I don't care what they say or how they say it, or if it's with passion or not...

Our job as citizens is NOT to puff up the membership of Washington DC private clubs...so the blowhards at NR have new people to schmooze with... where they can debate each other's conservative bona fides... as if that made a wit of difference in a world run by and for the benefit of liberal elites - and against the wishes of the people.

We're NOT electing a President of the College Debate team... we're electing a CEO of the company called 'The United States Of America'.... We need someone who knows how to make the borders secure - NOT just talk about it. Someone who will fix the VA or end it...Someone who will secure our borders not debate the merits of illegals.

Really oh another concerned one .

Your posting history shows you to be a Cruz bot so you can stop the act.

Second, Do you supported Teddy voting twice on Cloture to get the treasonous Tpa-TPP out of committee that his wife help write during both there time as Bush employees ?

Teddy wife works for Goldman Sachs that lobbied heavily for this treason treaty because they can then avoid US banking laws .

TPA- Tpp destroys out constitution and sets up a foreign tribunal which will over rule USA laws and regulations .

Oh then cynical-sly Ted after knowing the Treaty had 51 votes then votes NO !

Who is Ted trying to fool ?
Even a third grader knows the cloture votes are the key ones .

Thirdly, Ted then votes Yes on the Corker Bill which gives Iran the Nuclear bomb and Billions in our tax dollars to fund terrorism !
Oh , the real hidden reason for the Corker bill was to stop the Iran sanctions which then released all those tied up Iranian billions in Goldman and Citibank vaults.p>

So you like that old Teddy's the guy whose entire campaign is funded by. NY Hedge fund Billionaire / Tax cheat who owes 6 billion to the IRS . Interesting.

Your reasoning and style of looking down on me for voicing my concerns, an attitude I see with a growing number of Trumpeters, is what contributed to my concerns about him.

I have said the blind allegiance and crowd fervor makes me uneasy at times because it is similar to what went on with Obama. That was followed by the dividing of our nation. This campaign already seems to be dividing the people who should be standing together the most.

I hope we can talk merits instead of spinning derogatory rhetoric and not alienate each other to the point where we hand our country to Hillary.

I also hope that if Mr. Trump wins this thing he will stand as strong as Cruz has in opposing the beltway establishment rather than become the deal maker Orrin Hatch, Trent Lott, Mitch McConnell and John McCain think he is.

Conservatives are being asked to line up behind a guy who’s been a liberal Democrat virtually his entire adult life, and if you don’t support this liberal Democrat, well that just proves you’re a RINO!
__________________________________________________________

Trump appeared at the Republican convention for GHW Bush and endorsed him.

Trump also endorsed and campaigned for McCain.

Trump endorsed Romney.

I don’t know if he endorsed GW Bush.

But keep posting the lies if it makes you feel better.

The problem is that Cruz is not another Reagan.

Reagan was not an ideologue.

Reagan did not wear his Christian faith on his sleeve and tell his supporters to “strap on the full armor of God”.

Reagan did not disparage any segment of voters because of their values.

Reagan was not a lawyer.

Reagan did not have an ivy league degree.

Reagan was not a first term senator. In fact he was never a senator.

When Reagan made mistakes he admitted them. He did not double down and make excuses for them.

Reagan was not in his forties when he decided he was ready for the presidency.

Reagan was successful in things other than politics.

Cruz may admire Reagan but he has little in common with him.

If you are really undecided you should do your own research on the candidates rather than depend on someone else to lay it out for you.

The list you linked is dishonest in that it is incomplete. Kind of like taking quotes out of text.

Assuming your question was sincere, the RNC had to withdraw the invitation for National Review participation in the next debate because NR had, in effect, staked a position regarding the candidates.

Every moderator or questioner has opinions. We are all human. But a moderator who attempts to be fair has to keep those opinions to himself. The NR special issue public dumping on Trump crossed the line. No way could a NR moderator be considered impartial after that.

Moreover, I doubt that NR represents the “Republican establishment.” Not even sure what that is. One could argue that whichever candidate prevails in this primary season has won the right to call himself establishment, considering the effort and support one must earn in order to win a nomination.

Thanks for the post and link. It doesn't matter what his real voting record is to those operatives pushing the Uniparty candidate.

They will find some other made up mud to sling around. Once that is addressed with the facts they will go back to the same old false memes.

The operatives aren't here for the truth and neither are the "true believers."

I'll be glad to look at or listen to any comparisons you have to offer.

The PBS site shows one Trump page that is very much in line with my positions. That's why I say, as I always have, that I will strongly promote and financially support the primary winner.

That said: I have trouble with ethanol subsidies, and Lott, Hatch, McConnell and McCain getting aboard. I wonder what that means.

Now I am looking for position statements from Cruz to see what I may disagree with.
