Donald Trump’s Fox Debate Boycott and The Ridiculous Fox News Response…
Conservative Tree House ^ | January 27, 2016 | by Sundance

Many broadcast hours and column inches are sure to be used today and tomorrow regarding the decision by Donald Trump to skip the Fox News debate in Iowa.

Predicatively 90% of those reports will most likely circle around a Donald Trump -vs- Megyn Kelly narrative. Obviously that aspect will be the preferred hook used by Fox News to avoid sunlight; it is also profoundly wrong.

O’Reilly was pretty good a few years ago, then he started believing he was bigger and better than he really was...

IMO the “fund raiser” could include a townhall moderated by Trump.

The News International phone-hacking scandal is a controversy involving the now defunct News of the World and other British newspapers published by News International, a subsidiary of the then News Corporation.

Employees of the newspaper were accused of engaging in phone hacking, police bribery, and exercising improper influence in the pursuit of stories. Whilst investigations conducted from 2005 to 2007 appeared to show that the paper’s phone hacking activities were limited to celebrities, politicians and members of the British Royal Family, in July 2011 it was revealed that the phones of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler, relatives of deceased British soldiers, and victims of the 7 July 2005 London bombings had also been hacked.

The resulting public outcry against News Corporation and its owner Rupert Murdoch led to several high-profile resignations, including that of Dow Jones chief executive Les Hinton, News International legal manager Tom Crone and chief executive Rebekah Brooks.

The commissioner of London’s Metropolitan Police Service, Sir Paul Stephenson, also resigned. Advertiser boycotts led to the closure of the News of the World on 10 July 2011, after 168 years of publication.

[1] Continued public pressure shortly forced News Corporation to cancel its proposed takeover of the British satellite broadcaster BSkyB.

British prime minister David Cameron announced on 6 July 2011 that a public inquiry, known as the Leveson Inquiry, would look into phone hacking and police bribery by the News of the World, consider the wider culture and ethics of the British newspaper industry and that the Press Complaints Commission would be replaced entirely.

[2] A number of arrests and convictions followed, most notably of the former News of the World managing editor Andy Coulson.

Murdoch and his son, James, were summoned to give evidence at the Leveson Inquiry. Over the course of his testimony, Rupert Murdoch admitted that a cover-up had taken place within the News of the World to hide the scope of the phone hacking.

[3] On 1 May 2012, a parliamentary select committee report concluded that Murdoch exhibited wilful blindness to what was going on in his companies and publications, and stated that he was not a fit person to exercise the stewardship of a major international company.

[4] On 3 July 2013, Channel 4 News broadcast a secret tape in which Murdoch dismissively claims that investigators were totally incompetent and acted over next to nothing, and excuses his papers’ actions as part of the culture of Fleet Street.

That sounds like it was written by a FReeper TDS victim.

More proof that someone is writing their bs, and they are copying it as real conservatives/Christians.

That montage was played on competing networks today.

Really, that’s great!! Shows everybody who Meg K. really is. Also, there are so many dems who hate fox news. Trump doing this, I think they will actually give a Republican candidate a look for a change.

As usual, an excellent and clear summary of what has been happening to America.

I think the whole captive non-constitutional system of running for President needs to be deconstructed. This system is a creature of 1) media, which pretends to be conveying information while working in the business of selling time to candidates; 2) consultants, who require no further comment; 3) Polls, which are simply sophisticated jury-tampering devices, and 4) the “donor class” (imagine what Jefferson and Madison would say about THAT!).

These powerful forces (media, consultants, polls, and donors) have carved out a role for themselves which, since their collaboration began, has tended to drive candidacies towards uniformity of policy, if not openly, at least in terms of final result.

The wrecking ball that is Donald Trump is now taking a swing at the real problem.

Fight

At this point I think Trump would be insane to agree to show up for a lynching. He’s too smart for Murdoch.
