Donald Trump Won The Debate

Candidates with big poll leads have sought to wriggle out of debating without looking like cowards or risking a slip into obscurity for years, but Donald Trump actually lived the dream Thursday night.

By picking a well-timed fight with Fox News and Megyn Kelly, Trump dominated days of debate coverage without even participating, then stood aside and laughed -- hosting his own rival televised event while on the main stage his GOP rivals spent hours squabbling with each other and turning in poor man's versions of Trump-style demagoguery.

Seriously? It took more courage to buck big corrupt media thanto show up for their silly debate. He put it all on the line on his immigration stance, he’s hardly afr aid of Megan. He doesn’t the job. CSPAN had excellent unbiased coverage of the veteran’s event.

Trump rolled the dice. What politician DOES that? Its unheard of. Politicians hate risk.

Watching CSPAN was a breath of fresh air by not telling us what to think. Forgot how that felt.

All BS and rah rah aside, no one at the debate was a clear winner. We will probably know Monday if it was a mistake for Trump to skip the debate. Trump didn’t win anything tonight IMO. He probably should have shown up just for the sake of winning Iowa. This whole soap opera with FOX/Kelly vs. Trump is making Trump look silly. The debate tonight I believed proves this.

We will see what it all means. I have a different take. Most people, except for the people on this board, don’t usually stick around for the whole debate. Those that do, are there to watch, “their guy”. Those people channel surfing saw Trump’s event. Which I believe may have had broader appeal than the debate itself. And it was so patriotic, that it made people feel good. And that is something that voters will remember when they go to the caucus on Monday, rather than the bad snarky feeling perpetuated by the Fox moderators.

Trump knows this, by the way.

I think those who saw the debate just chugged two Redbulls. Meanwhile Green Beret John Wayne gave one of the most inspirational speeches of the year. A true hero. The 21 club are an amazing group of heroes.

Pray America wakes

Well the people in the line who were kids said they could not decide until Trump bailed on the debate. They said we need decisive people who are willing to take a risk. It surprised the reporter who expected just the opposite.

Stay with your stale old election formula and see what happens.

Trump has had more media coverage and interviews than all the rest of the candidates combined. He is fearless going on every network facing the liberal moderators of every stripe. The idea that he is afraid of Kelly is ludicrous.

Would any Rep candidate appear at a debate where Candy Crowley was the moderator? Of course not given her performance at the Obama-Romney debate.

Why should Trump agree to appear at another debate where Kelly is the moderator? Or where Fox issues a mocking press release against him? The real question is why Fox persisted in having Kelly be a moderator. The debate is not about making the moderators the focus. Fox should have selected someone else to avoid even the appearance of bias.

The RNC removed National Review from being a moderator at an upcoming debate because of its dedication of an entire edition attacking Trump. The RNC also canceled another debate by MSNBC given the Harwood attacks and unprofessional behavior. The RNC should have demanded that Kelly be removed from the debate so that the GOP front-runner for the past 7 months be treated fairly. We are electing a President, not a moderator.

It is amusing seeing all the liberals use the Trump was afraid meme.

...Trump held a veteran’s event , thereby securing the whole veteran’s communicative social network for caucus day.

Every veteran had a mother, or father, sister, brother, friend, teacher, pastor, grandparent. That is quite a communicative social network, isn't it?

From what I’ve seen of scumbags like Candy Crowley and the bimbo Megan Kelly, I would rejoice if they were dumped on by a bucket of excrement in prime time.
He done good to refuse to appear on the same platform.
Let Murdoch count his losses.

Oh, he did not make a mistake. This was perfect. He did better than anyone would’ve predicted.

And all on 24 hours notice.

My only complaint is that it was too short! I could’ve listened to those vets for hours.

Yes, you probably do have bad news for me. Trumps poll numbers are very impressive. He will probably win on Monday.

But could you remind me just one last time why Trump was a no-show tonight?

Afraid of the Wicked Witch?
Too busy?
Afraid to face Cruz again?
Brilliant strategist trying for a few more points in the polls?

I confess to be interested in this penchant for the defeated and powerless to call their tormentors "cowards." I guess a gesture of contempt is their last available weapon, however feeble and impotent.

He probably should have shown up just for the sake of winning Iowa.

The last two republicans who won Iowa were Santorum and Huckabee. So how big a deal can it be?

If you would have watched the veterans' special on C-Span, you would have seen.

Do you support the veterans?

It showed that Trump is a coward afraid of a 105 pound girl.

I think Megan weighs in a bit over 105lbs

For 105 lbs you need someone like Jebbi's friend::

If that's what you really believe then you're not even in left field.. you completely missed the exit to the ballpark.

15 out of 15 calls to the C-Span after-event line were for Trump.

I saw that also. That made me realize that Trump had struck a BIG chord with Dems and Independents thanks to C-SPAN carrying his event.

I believe he helped himself more than he realized.

Last I looked about 15 minutes ago the Drudge poll was over 250,000 votes cast and Trump has 56% of them.
