Trumping Morality
Oklahoma Wesleyan University ^ | January 2016 | Dr. Everett Piper

Posted on 01/29/2016 4:34:01 PM PST by EveningStar

On January 18, Jerry Falwell, Jr. welcomed Donald Trump to Liberty University to speak in the school's chapel. As the college president who wrote the "this is not a daycare" article that received so much national attention recently, I have been asked by the media if I would be next: Will I be inviting Mr. Trump to Oklahoma Wesleyan University to speak in our chapel service? My answer has been simple and brief. No, I will not.

In selecting speakers for Oklahoma Wesleyan, party affiliation and political positions do not matter. Personal conduct, public statements, theological integrity and moral consistency do ...

Anyone who is pro-abortion is not on my side. Anyone who calls women "pigs," "ugly," "fat" and "pieces of a-" is not on my side. Anyone who mocks the handicapped is not on my side. Anyone who has argued the merits of a government takeover of banks, student loans, the auto industry and healthcare is not on my side ...

Furthermore, anyone who can get along with Pelosi and Schumer, as Trump said he did, is not on our side.

Don’t we have enough “Republican” “leaders” who make deals with the Dems? We sure don’t need a president who will.

A lot of Trump supporters don’t want to believe that Trump mocked the reporter. However, I have watched the video and it is quite clear that Trump is mimicking the jerky movement and awkward angle of the Reporters arm. It has not been proved to be a lie. In fact, pretty much everyone except the diehard Trump supporters say that Trump was mocking the Reporters disability.

What you see is an implanted suggestion by the media saying that Trump was mocking the physical disability of that reporter. He as mocking the reporter all right but he was mocking the flip flopping he was doing about his story. If you watch trumps hands when he speaks he is always using his hands. Now picture what someone does with their hands when they're pretending to be an indecisive person? Imagine someone whining "I don't know"...where's their arms? I'll show you:

Same exact hand positions as Trump. And if they were in motion repeating it a couple of times it would look the same.

So if these people are mocking someone saying "I don't know I don't" who happens to be "handicapped" are they too guilty of mocking a handicapped person? Apparently only if they're Donald Trump and the reporter is a lying leftie.

Wow sorry for the size. But go to google and do an image search for “I don’t know”. Apparently all those people decided to mock a leftist reporter.

That’s OK.

But it is important to be accurate, which you were trying to be, as was I ;)

and O’neil didn’t follow thru on the deals he made with Reagan.

Enough with deal making with Dems. They’re confirmed liars.
Gridlock is needed if Dems won’t compromise

A: They changed me. Yeah, they changed my view as to that, absolutely.

So he SAYS something in the run up to his campaign, and I'm just supposed to believe it? THAT'S due diligence?

I fell in love with my daughter as soon as I knew she had been created within me....
.....but it was 15 years later till I became aware even, and then convicted about the abortion issue

Trump said it in April, 2011, almost five years ago.

You believe what you want to believe.

The original premise stands--the author of this piece is wrong about Trump's view on abortion.

I was just relating my own experience and trying to understand his. I am very empathetic and forget that others are not.

I was thinking this morning that our elections are like sports. Find a team and you just stick with it win/lose/draw. Generally speaking.

I’ve picked my teams based on their names. Patriots, Avalanche. I also hope Carolina wins because I have family that hopes they win and I will enjoy their excitement.

I also pray the balance of power is respected in the next administration.

You said....’I am very empathtic and forget others are not’

I take that personally....
....you don’t have the edge on ‘empathy’ just because you’re a Cruz fan.

I had/have empathy plenty........( was out of the country having a baby in a military hospital when much of this started)......and too busy taking care of my children to keep up with the news.

seriously.....do you hear what you are saying? when you post

My response was geared toward the “pick pick pick” against Trump. I did not fall in love with my baby when I found out I was prego. I wish I had. I envy you for that and was not thinking of you when I posted “others.” Trump does not seem very empathetic and I apologize greatly for having not been direct in my reply.

A little bit ago a freeper had posted a link to a video of Trump seeing a house on a ridge above where he was going to build a golf course. He told his assistant to get rid of it. Just get rid of it. IMHO great leaders have been under fire and weigh their plans accordingly. The decision to follow those leaders should be a choice.

In the election my choice is between someone who wants to make a lot of money and win no matter the losses, and someone who wants to return the government to its constitutional basis. Simplified, of course. There is still a chance I may vote for DT. I have to weigh standing before God at the judgment throne watched by 60 million aborted.

Trump said it in April, 2011, almost five years ago.

And he's said more since then.

You believe what you want to believe.

That's the point - it isn't about 'belief'... It's about the record.

The original premise stands--the author of this piece is wrong about Trump's view on abortion.

No, I will stand upon the bare fact that there is no palpable evidence beyond his word on the matter (which is evolving even yet) - And in fact, his weak assertions have not convinced the Pro-Life community.

Pro-Life Profiles: Donald Trump

Many Democrat and Republican voters erroneously believe that Republican candidates who claim to be pro-life actually are pro-life. Do not be deceived about Donald Trump.

It is too bad the (possibly hyper-sensitive?) mother misinterpreted the “apparently mocking” gestures of Trump. (He wasn’t mocking; that’s how he gestures when he talks.)

Everybody gets hurt. For my entire school life I was mocked for a physical issue with my leg (”fixed” by surgery as an adult). I was mocked because of my ultra-ratty clothes picked out of the missionary barrel before it was shipped overseas. (One of the “blessings” of being a P.K.) I was mocked in gym class because I wasn’t allowed to wear shorts or slacks, and had to sit out on the sidelines when dancing was on the schedule — another joy of being a P.K. Dad’s note to the gym teacher: “Xxxx Xxxx is a Christian and does not dance.) Humiliation for 12 years, non-stop. I lived. You move on.

We have no Constitutional or God-given right not to be offended. So a perceived gesture would cause someone to vote for an inferior candidate? That’s pretty incredible.

So sorry for what you had to endure. As you say, you moved on, but it obviously still hurts a little.

It’s a sign of something lacking in a person’s character to make fun of someone. It’s bullying.

It’s not about how over or hyper sensitive the abused person is.

It’s about the abuser. Trump was an abuser.

How can it possibly be beyond reason to question the morality of Trump? Evidence ABOUNDS. You don't even have to dig for it. It's right there in his lifestyle, his business practices, and his general demeanor.

It's not the question that is the problem. It is the offensive way the questions are delivered -- as declarations of absolute truth, when in fact, it is the poster's personal opinion and judgment -- that is the problem. It is also the presumption that being an armchair keyboardist is a qualificatiion to judge, based on hearsay, outdated sources or political talking points rather than objective research from actual witnesses.

Many people go through life believing that their personal opinion is the same as actual fact. It is a mark of maturity, and far less offensive to others, to learn to express one's point of view objectively, or at least to admit it is an opinion or an impression you have, not something you truly know anything about. You weren't there; but God was. He alone is the judge of people's souls.

I trust in God but I also loathe Trump.

That's ok. Both of you were created in His image, and He still loves Donald, just as He loves you. Our Lord doesn't give up hope for everyone' salvation, like some of us mere humans do.
