So It Begins: Bloomberg Op-Ed Calls For An End Of Cash

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 01/31/2016

In a moment of curious serendipity, a little over 90 minutes after we showed what a dystopian, centrally-planned, cashless society unleashed in a negative interest rate world would look like ("by forcing people and companies to convert their paper money into bank deposits, the hope is that they can be persuaded (coerced?) to spend that money rather than save it because those deposits will carry considerable costs"), and briefly after we laid out the countless recent warnings from "very serious people" that cash is evil and should be banned:

1. Norway's Biggest Bank Demands Cash Ban 2. Bank Of England Economist Calls For Cash Ban, Urges Negative Rates 3. Citigroup's Gold "Expert" Demands A Cash Ban 4. Leading German Keynesian Economist Calls For Cash Ban

... while warning to await a full-on coopted media assault about the dangers of cash "which is an anacrhonysm from a bygone era, and that the world will be so much better if only everyone dutifully exchanges the physical currency in their pocket for digital, traceable, and deletable 1s and 0s", none other than Bloomberg issued an editorial Op-Ed in which it had one simple message: "Bring On the Cashless Future."

For those who were amused by our warning that a cashless world may be coming, here is precisely why the warning was issued, in Bloomberg's digital ink:

5. Bring On the Cashless Future - Bloomberg..."

Okay, so I'll mark YOU down for someone with extreme TDS.

I don't take out loans, don't have a mortgage ( had one once, hated it, and paid it off all at once very early on ), refuse to get that "tattoo" implant, won't turn in my gold n or ANY of my "stuff", so then what? HUMH?????

Trump NEVER claimed that he was going to "take down the big banks" nor close Wall Street.

OTOH, I have no question in my mind that he would NOT like this. He isn't an "elitest", he actually MAKES MONEY from those kinds of people, but isn't really "social" with them and never was. You really don't know nor understand much about him, nor people at that level.

No cash means no freedom.,

Actually, it is bigger than the point of freedom. Dims have made no secret that the socialist grail that they hope to obtain, is the confiscation of IRA's and 401k's into a combined government run SS type system that will "equitably" pay all.

That is the true meaning of feeling he Bern!!!!!

This control freak again. The same guy that gets his panties into a twist every time he sees a big cup of soda, I’d like to call for an end of Mike Bloomberg’s op-eds.

Of course. How else can they force people to put money into “negative interest rate” accounts? The ultimate totalitarian dream for controlling people and confiscating wealth.

PS...Trump is on board as well.

What do you base that on besides TDS?

Groups that piss off the imperial government....TEA Party people, registered Republicans, gun owners, etc....will have their finances shut down by a totalitarian government.

Mark of the beast, New World Order crap.

Bring back the gold standard. Bring back $500 and $1,000 bills.

As for Norway, those idiots better worry about getting rid of their muzzies instead of cash.

If Bloomturd is so against cash, let him give me his chump change dollars (clean, green, old, dirty, smelly). I’ll be glad to take millions of greenbacks off his hands, and I’ll even thank him for it.

Waiting!!!

the Founders wanted our money to ALWAYS be either silver or gold.

why? so WE THE PEOPLE would have the wealth of the nation, dispersed across the country.

using paper to represent the currency opens the possibility for devaluation (which has happened).

now they want digital currency (not to be confused with crypto currency).

a centrally controlled digital currency is a single click away from total confiscation.

at least with crypto currency, they’d have to come to your house and find it. with the scheme they’re pushing, they can wipe you out without entering your state (they’d also have ALL your financial information at their fingertips)

Trump better win this election; nobody else will even try to stop this.

Trump's supporters (that would be you) want him to exercise power without Constitutional constraint. At that point, who is to stop HIM from doing this? After all, he owes big money to the same people.

Just WHEN, in WHICH POST OF MINE, have I EVER stated that I wanted President Trump to act "UNCONSTITUTIONALLY" ?

Unlike the other candidates running, Trump actually LOVES this nation and her people AND wouldn't hesitate to veto something on his desk that would make this "legal".

Just HOW MUCH MONEY does Trump owe and to whom?

Please be not only specific and de3tailed in your reply, but also post your source.

Trump owes money but has spread the loans among many competing banks to avoid the problem of too much power in the hands of one bank. Read his financials.

There is no evidence that he will act without constitutional restraint. And Trump is all we have.

GOPe plan is to knock down Cruz first, consolidate power in GOPe. Plan is already working. Which means:

You don’t get Cruz
We don’t get Trump and
We get Rubio. And you will like it.

Rubio is a puppet boy for the money.
Sorry to spoil the ending, but that’s what is planned. And the plan will work, unless Trump is smart enough to change the ending.

End of the Republic.

Its like they don’t even know how some people will react to being forced to have electric money in the bank and to get a negative interest rate.

I would recommend they complete the magic magnet gun control agenda first.

Although I don't advocate violence, I agree. These nitwits are not anticipating what pissed off people with guns will do.
A massive gun grab would be necessary, before they could successfully play Ali Baba and the 40 thieves.

Yeah, but even today you can see the dopes using credit cards at the supermarket. They get "points" that way. Better "points" than "gigs."

Never buy a "pig in a poke."
