What's the safest way to cancel one?

Check the processes list within Task Manager (Right click on task bar).

Can’t find any malware reports that are citing faking (or using) the-snackbar.com credentials. Never heard of the site before.

Scanned with what? I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials. It is free, and it works well. It’s all I’ve used for the past 5+ years now, as I find all the other free options have become scammy bloatware themselves. Some of the paid options have even become malware themselves. (Looking at you, McAfee.)

Just a shot in the dark, go to control panel/install/uninstall programs and see if there is anything that looks similar. if so, uninstall. I know ask.com is very intrusive that way.

Go to the Task Manager (Ctrl/Alt/Del) and close any running applications. If that doesn’t work, reboot.

It may be a sketchy site linked to from one of the posts in your pings. Mark them all as read and see if the warning goes away.
