Christ tells us to do unto others what we would have them do unto us. I would not want to be accused of a lie if I got fooled by a false report, especially in the frenzy of a busy election night. Christians are obligated to avoid false accusations (there’s a commandment for that), and be charitable in interpreting the acts of others, to the extent possible. Sometimes there’s a smoking gun, and a real lie can be proven. But thinking CNN is reporting Carson out, and realizing that could help your guy, is not the same thing.

Peace,

SR

If you cannot show that what Cruz posted about what CNN had reported was not factual, then it is Carson who is guilty of dirty tricks, and Trump supporters also by jumping on it.

Well put. Cruz supporters share their candidate’s personality.

And they could have CALLED CARSON directly before using it to their advantage to verify if it was true or not.

Did they?

No. They ran with the lie because it helped them.

They also had a document prepared and read at the couci that said Trump until six months ago was pro partial birth abortion, amnesty, etc etc. and ran over his grandmother with a lawn mower.

One thing to support your guy.

Lying thinking that’s “God’s work” won’t work.

We will see. Off to NH and SC.

Wow, that is some dirty trick - reporting the news. Its amazing so many Carson supporters would suddenly change their minds over a CNN report announced by another campaign. I guess his supporters in Iowa were never that committed.

Iowa is pretty famous for large numbers of squishy voters until caucus day....

They may have believed it was true. Do you have evidence they knew it was false? I don't think you do. Jesus gave us the Golden Rule for our own well-being, as well as for the good of others. Always thinking the worst of someone when there are more noble possibilities is a harm we do to ourselves. It's really better to avoid that when possible. JMHO.

As for the supposed document reciting issues with Trump, I would have to see it and vet it. Fog of war. Anonymous posters saying something is so does not make it so. Hard evidence is much more persuasive.

Peace,

SR

That was my thought: In almost any breaking news story, these days, the likelihood of incorrect information is substantial. Cruz team members would be well advised that something like this could definitely be used against them in the general.

How about Cruz pick up the phone and call Carson directly? He doesn’t have the number? The campaign directors don’t heave each other’s number?

Instead he repeated the LIE rather than verify.

Right??

Your guy LIED to get votes to win and thanked God for his win.

Golden Rule?

Cruz is all about lying to anyone anywhere to WIN at any costs.

We will see if that is rewarded going forward.

Trump’s support of Kelo is surely dwarfed by this monstrous Cruz move.

I don’t believe you have evidence to support the charge. You don’t even have the chain of communication spelled out and verified anywhere. The Cruz campaign operation is huge, thousands of people. Who is the single point of origin, other than perhaps Steve King or CNN? It might even be that the Cruz inner circle was being more cautious with the news than the lower tier. No one has done anything here but circulate rumors. A person’s good reputation is too valuable to treat so recklessly. But you are welcome to believe what you will.

Peace,

SR

[[The Cruz campaign operation is huge, thousands of people.]]

No no, Cruz is responsible for each and every one of his workers in an omnipresent fashion and in his omniscience should have foreseen that the CNN report wasn’t true, and should have dropped everything to make sure his workers called and verified first- mistakes are only allowed IF one is not a Christian, and two, they are not Ted Cruz- otherwise mistakes are simply not allowed- and render such persons ‘slimy’ ‘evil’ ‘disgusting’ ‘a bad Christian’ etc

How dare you stick up for a man who viewed a CNN report and thought Carson would be taking time off and not campaigning? My goodness, what kind of monster are you?

The person I saw tweeting that information was Chris Moody at CNN. He tweeted that Carson would be leaving before the caucus results and then another tweet that Carson wouldn’t be going to NC or SC either.

Also, unless he changed it, that is not the picture used on Cruz’s twitter account.

no no no- you must jump to conclusions and react in a knee jerk fashion- after all, this is ted Cruz we’re talking about, an as such he must be guilty of something, anything, as long as he’s guilty of something- if there is nothing the only proper thing to do is jump to conclusions before all the facts are known- that way we can feed our perpetual outrage over a Christian candidate- After all, Cruz’s supposed illegal amnesty support accusation proved not to be true, so that has left the pack gnashing their teeth looking for something, anything- and by golly this is it! So let’s not let all the unknown and emerging facts get In the way of a good crucifixion eh? The masses want blood- best just to back out of he way and watch the feeding frenzy!

Cruz supporters share their candidate’s personality.

Marked. You're getting nasty with a whole bunch of conservative Republicans now, and broad-brushing them?

Good luck with that strategy.

It's a fair question to ask, "Who's zooming who?"

The original tweet came from a CNN story.

And Cruz is a bad guy for retweeting it? Hey, wait a minute.

If it wasn't true in the first place, then whose responsibility is it, to have put out bad dope?

And then, let's ask -- is someone making mischief here? Who? And cui bono?

Nonsense. I’ll get my news on Carson from Carson himself, not some supposed Trump site.
