Bernie Sanders Threatens to Skip Thursday's Debate Unless Hillary Clinton Agrees To Do More

Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has threatened to skip this Thursday's planned primary debate unless his opponent, Hillary Clinton, agrees to partake in additional debates. According to Sanders' campaign, Clinton is refusing to debate the candidate in New York.

"We are continuing to negotiate with them not just about the debate Thursday night, but about the other debates that we have said need to be agreed to in order to put the whole package of debates together," Tad Devine, a top Sanders campaign official, told The Hill.

"They have not agreed to at least one aspect of it, which is we've asked for a debate in New York, and they do not want to have a debate in New York."

Clinton is urging Sanders to debate her in New Hampshire this week, saying the campaign has met the conditions.

Clinton and Sanders are the only two remaining Democratic candidates after former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley suspended his campaign on Monday evening following the Iowa caucus.

The debate schedule has been a thorn in the Sanders' campaign's side for quite a while. Despite DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schulz's claim that the schedule was meant to maximize exposure to the candidates, ratings have been very low.

Amon the many dangers of electing Trump, every pol after him will copy his usual antics. He will change the face of politics, and not in a good way.

Yeah, we wouldn't want to go against the tried and true methods that have brought us such great leadership, would we?

The Bern isn’t very bright, but his ideology was already proof of that.

Trump's boycott was foolish and hurt him.

Sanders' boycott makes much more sense: O'Malley's gone now. Without Sanders there is no debate, and Clinton has no excuse not to debate.

Trump's boycott helped. The MSM and other candidates laid into Cruz so that he lost some support.

Also it was an opportunity for Trump to cozy up to Santorum and Huckabee in hopes of getting their votes to move toward him rather than Cruz.

I thought for sure that all of the conservative votes would move toward Cruz after Iowa. I'm not so sure now with Huckabee, Santorum, and Carson being openly hostile toward him. At some point I can see them all making speeches in support of Trump.

Cruz's support in the south might shift toward Trump if Trump's strategy plays out the way he seems to want it to.

Bernie should be careful about what he wants. The more people know about him, the more they’ll recognize him as the lunatic he is.

And Hitlerbeast does not care about exposure or lack thereof, everyone who recognizes her as the criminal thug she is does so already, and everyone who deludes themselves into thinking she is good for the country has done so already.

(Sanders) gonna have his own little event...... raise money, and give a million dollars of his own money

Sanders doesn't have a million of his own money.

Hell I have more in my 401K then Sanders is worth.

Trump's boycott stalled his upward momentum and Cruz's downward momentum, handing Cruz the state.

It was a stupid, impulsive move.

Huckabee folded, Santorum will fold soon, they don't have a ton of votes that they can effectively transfer to anyone.

Trump said pretty rough things about Carson, not sure why Carson would endorse him over Cruz.

This is the first I've heard of Cruz's supposed "downward momentum" before the debate.

Turning into “what if they held a debate and nobody came?”
One candidate, plus a “who?” foil, does not make for a debate.

Liberal logic: “I’ll boycott this debate unless you schedule more debates.”

It would be interesting now, in light of what’s been happening in the RAT primary funny season, to know what the substance of Bernie’s conversation was with Obola last week!

Agree to debate him at 3AM CST, or during the Super Bowl.
