Donald Trump implodes campaign by being a sore loser
The Washington Examiner ^ | 2/3/2016 | Philip Klein

Nobody likes a sore loser, and by adopting that role on Wednesday morning in charging that Sen. Ted Cruz "stole" Iowa, Donald Trump has effectively imploded his campaign.

Yes, I know. Pundits have been saying for months that one Trump comment or another would sink him, only to be proven wrong. But here's why this is different.

Every other time Trump said something controversial, or insulted an opponent, he was doing so from a position of strength. He looked like the alpha male toying with his pathetic oppnents. His whole brand is based on the idea that he's a "winner" - being not just a loser, but a "sore loser," is greatly damaging.

In this case, Cruz pulled off an impressive win in Iowa. Trump validated that win by giving a gracious - for him - concession speech, even congratulating Cruz. But now, he has unleashed a temper tantrum.

CNN denies it. I posted two links to stores where CNN is denying it.
CNN posted a story that Carson was flying home immediately after the caucus, but never said anything about him dropping out.

It was Cruz’s team that twisted the story and claimed Carson was dropping out.

“I think there is more to this...is TRUMP actually doing all of us a favor and EXPOSING the political process???”

You mean we didn’t know this? Trump is NOT a viable political candidate. Period. He isn’t exposing anything but His Majesty, the Baby.

News reports were saying that precinct captains at the caucus locations were telling voters that Carson was quitting his campaign.

Okay, but that is not what the Cruz campaign sent out to them. It was not an unreasonable inference on their part based on the CNN reports and what was flying around Twitter at the time, but it was not what had been passed to them by the Cruz campaign.

I’d like to know how CNN got the story

O'Reilly said last evening, he would get to the bottom of when CNN got the story.....Trump did not start this nor did Cruz. The media did....untrustworthy as ever.

I didn’t know the dirty tactics were this bad. I’m raising my children to love their country, stand by honest values and fight for liberty....how do the actions in Iowa support that?

Donald Trump has effectively imploded his campaign.

Post Iowa poll shows Trump up +24 in NH, not sure that qualifies as 'imploded.'

Even though a record 187,000 turned out for the Iowa state republican caucuses that isn’t even a drop in the bucket when you take a national view.

Cruz won by about 6,239 votes.

It would only have required 3,120 to vote for Trump instead of Cruz to change the standings.

The Iowa results aren’t a make or break event.

No serious front running candidate with a national organization and a campaign chest full of money is going to be discouraged because 3,120 Iowans voted for the other guy.

Well, I'm afraid that Cruz did steal Iowa.

You keep telling yourself that if it helps you deal with Trump being a loser...

Yup. Owner is Christian Billionaire. Pushing DDT’s buttons. Doesn’t take much. Just a little rejection. Lawyers will be making lots of money. Remember the birth question?

“Should I do it just for fun?” Trump asked at a campaign rally here.

“It’s so nasty though,” Trump added. “Ugh, I’m so good at that stuff.”

Actually, it’s his lawyers. He is very unstable and I hope it is revealed for all to see.

What neither the part that you printed, nor the linked article, ever even explain where in New Hampshire, Trump made the comment, cited--or the tone of his remarks--that is whether he was reflective, angry, or what? Trump has a bad habit of Twittering his thoughts of the moment, rather than the product of deeper reflection; and I will agree it is a bad habit.

On the other hand, there is considerable controversy--and there was before the Iowa caucuses, of a Ted Cruz tactic--which I will also agree was a mistake. I refuse to be dissuaded from the thesis that the Trump & Cruz backers need to prepare to work together, as their bases of support nearly perfectly complement one another, and are the two factions on which Conservatives are most dependent.

Here is the draft of a piece I have been working on the past couple of days, which will better explain why some of us remain neutral between Trump & Cruz, and where many who attack them--including one another--are making a mistake: Conservative Or Egoist.

CNN denies it.

And yet the tweets and the video are in the public record for all to see...

It was Cruz's team that twisted the story and claimed Carson was dropping out.

Wrong. I posted what they sent out to their people, and it didn't say anything about Carson dropping out. It just passed on what was being reported.

Trump has laid a whole lot bare. Filleted, salted, and broiled.

We need to pray for him. Every day.

And yes, he’s not clean. NO ONE IS.

The media is supporting Cruz? Ted Cruz? The guy they have mocked since he first showed up in the senate?

Isn't there a point where the folks being carried along on the conspiracy tsunami actually listen to how silly their own words become?

If so, TPTB would only have to somehow make sure Trump is gone from the political arena-somehow. You’d think this was a put up job.
