Donald Trump implodes campaign by being a sore loser
The Washington Examiner ^ | 2/3/2016 | Philip Klein

Nobody likes a sore loser, and by adopting that role on Wednesday morning in charging that Sen. Ted Cruz "stole" Iowa, Donald Trump has effectively imploded his campaign.

Yes, I know. Pundits have been saying for months that one Trump comment or another would sink him, only to be proven wrong. But here's why this is different.

Every other time Trump said something controversial, or insulted an opponent, he was doing so from a position of strength. He looked like the alpha male toying with his pathetic oppnents. His whole brand is based on the idea that he's a "winner" - being not just a loser, but a "sore loser," is greatly damaging.

In this case, Cruz pulled off an impressive win in Iowa. Trump validated that win by giving a gracious - for him - concession speech, even congratulating Cruz. But now, he has unleashed a temper tantrum.

Post Iowa poll shows Trump up +24 in NH, not sure that qualifies as 'imploded.'

Sorry, but that 3-day poll only has data from 1 day after Iowa. And even that poll already showed Cruz gaining 2 points and Rubio gaining 4 points.

Who cares, it’s frickin’ Iowa, Don. Why are you wasting time on a state that doesn’t matter?

Yea, I get it. You want it to be Cruz’ fault.
CNN tweeted Carson was going home. Deal with it.
And good bye

There were irregularities with the Iowa vote as attested to by Ted Cruz’s apology. Those could have changed the results of the election.

There is nothing wrong with stating that, no more than saying that irregularities in Obama’s elections could have changed vote totals.

‘Cause The Don has a real psychological problem with “lost,” “losing,” “did not win” near his name.

The only thing Cruz apologized for was that his team did not send out the correction from Carson and CNN when it came out. Neither he nor his team did anything wrong by sharing the original story.

Oh....I think the vote stuffing was a GOPe/DNC Rubio trick that didn’t quite get pulled off. It did puff him up, though. Rubio’s a globalist lackey and a splitter, a la Sundance’s 2014 prediction.

Rubio cast the deciding TPA vote on the TPP. Cruz voted for it too, but I became angry enough over that to quit following Cruz, so I don’t remember the details now. That thing dooms our children’s working futures. And our own sovereign law.

“CNN reported the story first, how are trump supporters not getting that?”

Because they are ‘Stump Stupid’? It’s either that or they are Trolls?

"CNN tweeted Carson was going home."

And only 1 of the many campaigns twisted that into the lie that Carson was dropping out.

At least a sore loser is understandable. A sore winner - as exemplified by Cruz supporters on FR - is entirely another thing.

Of course, I dispute that Trump is a sore loser. Cruz and Rubio both used ugly political tricks to win Iowa. I think that story is going to gain legs.

What deceptive tactics?

CNN reported the story first, how are trump supporters not getting that?

CNN reported that Carson was taking a break. The Cruz campaign sent word out implying that Carson was leaving the race and tried to change votes from Carson to Cruz at caucus sites.

Isn’t “going home” political-speak for dropping out. Maybe Ben’s people did not know that.

CNN never reported that Carson was dropping out. That is an untrue statement. They are saying that again as I type.

If Trump can go flat out crazy with a sophomore political move, can we trust him with his finger on the button?

One fake news release that upsets Trump will he launch the dogs of war?
