Cruz Laughs at 'Trumper-tantrum,' Says Trump 'Can’t Debate the Substance'

Ted Cruz unloaded on his rival Donald Trump after the real estate mogul accused him of voter fraud over Twitter. "I wake up every day and laugh at the latest thing Donald has tweeted," said Cruz, calling Wednesday’s outburst a "Trumpertantrum" brought on by Trump's inability to "debate the substance."

On Wednesday morning, Trump sent out a series of tweets demanding the caucus results in Iowa be nullified due to what he claimed was voter fraud perpetrated by the Cruz campaign. In particular, Trump singled out reports that the Cruz campaign told voters during the caucus Dr. Ben Carson had dropped out of the race, causing some of them to switch to Cruz.

At a press conference before a meeting with voters in Goffstown, New Hampshire, the new frontrunner in the Republican race pulled no punches. "It is no surprise that Donald is throwing yet another temper tantrum – or if you like, another Trumpertantrum," Cruz said. "It seems his reaction to everything is to throw a fit, and I understand that Donald finds it very hard to lose. But at the end of the day, the people of Iowa spoke."

"There's a reason that Donald engages in insult after insult - because he can't debate the substance," Cruz continued. "He doesn't actually want to talk about issues."

The Texas senator wasn't done. "Donald's insults get more and more hysterical the more and more upset he gets," Cruz said. "I think they're very funny. I wake up every day and laugh at the latest thing Donald has tweeted." He questioned Trump's temperament for the job of commander-in-chief, saying "we're liable to wake up one day and Donald, as president, will have nuked Denmark."

"You know, my girls are five and seven," Cruz said. "And I got tell you, Caroline and Catherine are better behaved than a presidential candidate who insults people every day." The line drew cheers and huge applause from the assembled New Hampshirites waiting to meet him.

Asked whether Cruz planned to fire the staffers accused of misleading Iowa caucus-goers, the senator demurred. "This is not a campaign that scapegoats our staffers, that holds someone out and fires them for political purposes," he told a reporter. "And I would note that the news story we passed on was true and accurate . . . is it a dirty trick to pass on your news stories?"

This will turn out to be election tampering, and it won’t matter to the Cruz-ites here on FR. But it will matter to Cruz voters out there. Cruz wants to say he’s this lily white perfect God fearing guy but people who aren’t fanatic about him are seeing him for what he really is. A slippery typical politician.

Trump is gonna keep hammering this and there isn’t a damn thing Cruz can do about it.

For sure. Even bad press is attention and not everybody drinks the kool aid that is being offered.

Interesting video. What comes across is he’s playing to the camera, or trying to. The kid wants nothing to do which him at that point, but he persists. Kinda creepy.

Most of the drugs in this country today are coming from Mexico and Trump was the one who boldly stood up to the tsunami of crime that is coming across our borders. He bellowed at the top of his lungs without out fear of political correctness and he was absolutely right to do that. When there is an EMERGENCY you YELL at the top of your lungs! I don’t care about his vocabulary, I care about his intent and his intent to be protect the nation.

“Believe what you want.”

I don’t have to believe it. I’m seeing it.

Trumping the shark is clever, but Trump would never use it, because he is more relevant than anyone in politics right now.

Now TrumperTantrum is something Trump can deploy against all his enemies, including ted cruznadian.

And here’s another thing .. for Trump to claim caucus votes were taken away because of the reaction to a missive relayed by the Cruz campaig. He implies, in this age of instant access to news, nobody would’ve had the presence of mind to take a minute, go online and actually verify the report.

Trump would have us believe masses of voters just took it all at face value and migrated straight to Cruz. What does that say about Trump’s opinion of voters?

And don’t forget Cruz going down to the border with Mr. Tearjerker Glenn Beck handing out teddy bears and soccer balls to all the illegal alien kids that have been brought into the country by Obama and the Democrats. Yech!

Really...what does this say about Cruz’s lack of judgement?
Ted’s definition of substance...phony voter violation notices and rumor spreading about Carson. Canuck Cruz dirty tricks won him 1 more delegate than Trump. And that will be Dirty Rafael’s last victory.
*******************************

His common sense knew that there was no logical reason for Ben to bail before the numbers were announced....Cruz and his peeps knew better.

He’s an attorney, his training would have lead him to check the story, UNLESS, he truly is a smarmy opportunist!

I saw that unedited video of him with his family someone posted on here. It was very odd and cold,IMO. I don’t think he’s the person he pretends to be.

Look what he said about Carly: Who can stand to look at that face? That was a personal attack meant to negate anything of substance she may have to say.

Was it accurate?

He made a jab about Bush's wife, something about him liking illegals so much he married one. How can someone answer that?

Answered by saying it isn't so if it's not true.

Then he denied Ben Carson's reputation as a great physician.

I've been paying attention but I must have missed that. Is that exaggeration on your part?

The man has a huge ego that constantly needs to be stroked. He needs lots of "yes people" surrounding him at all times.

Is that what you perceive? Is not the Tediban a collective yes chorus for Ted?

He was only complementing her beauty. You have a dirty mind.

If I felt like it, I could bring more of Trump’s adulterous extra and pre martial sexcapades into the discussion.

I have a dirty mind? Yeah, sure. When it comes to the very idea of dating your daughter - I consider that a dirty and ugly idea.

How could the mind (and mouth) of Trump ever conceive that?

Please note that my firm conviction is not because I am a fan of Ted. It is due to understanding the type of character Trump has.

If you have nothing substantial to say do not ping me again.

OK, I read your post differently now.

At first glance, looked like you were linking the 2 things as one...but apparently you meant it more like a bullet list (minus the bullets).
