CONCORD, N.H. -- Ben Carson, the famed neurosurgeon whose bid for the Republican presidential nomination has struggled to keep pace with rivals, will cut more than 50 staff positions on Thursday as part of an overhaul and downsizing of his entire campaign.
Salaries are being significantly reduced. Carson's traveling entourage will shrink to only a handful of advisers. And instead of flying on private jets, Carson may soon return to flying on commercial flights.
What is that thing? Too funny.
Yup. IF that's so, then Sarah Palin's part of the problem here.
IF what you say is true (that she hasn't negatively gone after Rubio over the same exact matter), THEN she's engaged in selective outrage. She's engaged in exploitive crassness.
Sometimes when you attempt to splash mud at others, it winds up covering your beautiful white dress!
We know that he lost all of his key fundraisers in NH before IA.
So, Sarah, when are you going to get around to attacking Rubio on the SAME EXACT issue ... now that the media's had a few articles on multiple Rubio staffers having at the rumor for almost a 24-hr media cyle...which, btw, is "forever" in terms of today's instant news access...???
Sarah??? Sarah??? Are you hearing me?
Sadly, Carson’s problem here is exactly that he is NOT a career politician.
His character, message and momentum can only carry him so far. He’s not an established politician, so he hasn’t built up a well of support from, and a rolodex of crony-capitalists and government parasites - the ones who really fund big-money Presidential campaigns.
Carson did a lot in this campaign.
Made me sick when Trump began saying he was slow, sick and pathological like a child molester etc...
I knew he’d never win but I loved his slow and deliberate speaking style, with every word and argument thought out.
He always made his point in irrefutable ways.
He did not stand down against Islam and the incompatibility of Shariah law and the Constitution.
There is a LOT of ways that sentence can end.
But, agree on your post as to the real contribution Ben has made to the conversation. If he endorses, it is much to be coveted.
I hope Carson takes a couple days, then endorses Ted. Would make DT look even smaller...
Some truth to that as all the fundraisers for Carson bolted to Cruz.
It’s been in a death spiral since he zoomed to number 2 and then fell back into single digits....nice fellow....completely unprepared to be president!!!
Outstanding Post!
So the Cruz campaign wasn’t wrong, they were just early about Carson dropping out.
Pretty much, it seems.
Carson was already famous as a surgeon. There is a movie about him with Cuba Gooding Jr. playing Carson. It is pretty good. The man is a genius.
He spoke at a national prayer breakfast with Obama and stood up to him there. He then became a media darling of Christian conservatives. People starting saying he should run as president. He could be the anti-Obama.
He did an exploratory committee and found a lot of support. As a result he ran and raised a lot of money.
Unfortunately his genius as a surgeon has not translated as a genius at being a politician. He probably would be a decent president if he could build a decent team, but his current team has not been adequate to give him the commanding lead he would require to win the nomination or presidency.
Having said that, I could vote for Carson in the general, though I prefer Cruz first.
Carson should have gotten better council, being a brilliant X does not make one a good politician or president.... He got some bad advice, and should have never gotten into the race.
He never had any shot, and frankly, don’t think he has the skills to be a successful politician.
That doesn’t make him a bad man or take away from his talents, they are just not in the areas they need to be to be a politician or the President.
He got bad council, or did not listen to the right ones.
He would make an excellent cabinet position fill
Again I get called a Trumpster here #45 LOL
Lucky you
He/she couldn’t even tell from my Tagline
