Moderator Hugs Candidates After Dem Debate (Dem Love Fest)

After last night's Democratic debate, Rachel Maddow, one of the debate moderators, hugged the candidates. First Bernie Sanders got pulled tight, then Hillary Clinton.

That might be an advantage for their progress, even though they are, er, progressive.

What if all the Republicans acted that way instead of like a clowder of independent cats?

It does seem like a lot of nod, wink. That even though they say they are rivals, Bernie would leave a lot of room for Hillary and vice versa.

I could wish that we’d see this sort of collegiality between, say, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. That, at the very least, you win by out classing your opponent not by out crassing him.

With Hill, it would be a tossup. Probably settled by feats of strength, like a nut-cracking contest, or a pommel horse scissor-off.
