The Keystone Pipeline may be private, but it has implications that are public. A private parking lot for limos at his casina is not a public interest at all.

Thing is that Keystone IS A PRIVATE PROJECT! Trump is correct ... Private oil companies in CANADA sending Oil for profit to PRIVATE Refineries and SHIPPING on the Gulf Coast.
Trump showed that he has the backbone to stand up to a hostile audience. He is a fighter. No one else on the stage would have the nerve to do that.

This country is covered with pipelines. They are virtually all owned by corporations. They move oil and gas across the nation for the good of the entire nation. It is a different thing than a parking lot for a guy’s casino...

Guess I have a different take. My dad held a property in San Diego for years because he knew the freeway was coming through and made a fortune. But he knew for years of the plan.

Even when it’s perceived as private use, the ultimate use is public. A big business brings in more taxes than a single-family home. Atlantic City wanted this as much as Trump did.
Eminent domain is used so private developers can build high-rise apartment complexes, malls, etc. More taxes in the coffers for the community is the goal. Jeb knows this as much as anyone; playing dumb tonight is convenient for him.
