He won Iowa for one reason: He excelled among people who described themselves as very conservative.

The author makes the same mistake many FReepers and ideologues of all stripes make.

Cruz won because he had a complete campaign that included an effective ground game.

He can win many less conservative stats if, and only if, he can convince his supporters to join the ground game and then train his supporters on how to get out their vote.

Most people do not vote based on ideology. They vote based on liking the candidate and/or liking the surrogate, which means liking the person who knocks on their door. More NH Republican voters and SC voters care about the SuperBowl than the about the primary race. The smart ground game will find the interest of the voter and make friends based on that.

Cruz worked harder than any other campaign and he deserved to win.

FReeper’s mistake...

LOL

Cruz made several. I didn’t make any.

If 51% of the US population is looking for a pure Conservative, then Cruz has it made.

But they aren’t.

I expect Trump to win. But we’ll see.

All the democrats and socialists laugh at a political campaign which is based upon representing the constituents.

They prefer a corrupt payback scheme to all their bought off voters.

They hate representative government so much that they attack all tea party members as “hate mongers”.

So you are in agreement with the Rockefeller Republicans. A conservative can’t win so we must run a Manhattan liberal. Whats the point? Vote for a real liberal. Feel the Bern!

Cruz won because more voters favored his position than his competitors.

A Conservative can win! Sleazy moderates such as McCain and slippery moderates such as Romney lost. The last candidate lost even though he was pushed heavily by Ann Coulter. We need a candidate who will enact pro freedom policies; not one who has the biggest bulge in his pants; i.e., his wallet.

What a way to lower expectations for our side meanwhile the Democrats put the most left wing Senator in the White House while pushing grandma and grandpa socialists for the next term. Trump hit a nerve with some rhetoric on illegal immigration but republican voters are and should wake up to the opportunistic branding. I expect him to lose more primaries and then play spoiler.

VIDEO: Carson: Cruz-Iowa Controversy ‘No Minor Incident,’ Was Deliberate

As I have ranted elsewhere, at this point in the presidential race it is easier to be a Trump apologist than it is to be a Cruz apologist imo.

I noticed that the Carson video on Gretawire seemed to be employing various ”subliminal” video effects for Trump, Cruz and Carson.

If the American people had not lost the populist facet of conservatism globalists Cruz, Rubio, Ryan, Bush and most of Congress would not get elected.

Its the same way Reagan won.

People believed strongly enough in Reagan's message that they volunteered in huge numbers and the message was so clean and clear that those volunteers were able to work with little to no oversight. That grassroots salesmanship brought in a lot of voters

I believe Ted Cruz will come out on top and I believe the reason he will can be found in Reagan's nomination acceptance speech. The whole tone of his campaign was perfect.

Ronald Reagan Presidential Nomination Acceptance Speech - 7/17/1980

I think we're seeing it recreated in the behavior of the grassroots campaign help.

Breitbart posted Cruz Campaign voicemails that were sent to his precinct captains AFTER Carson denied that he was dropping out...along with the name of a precinct captain providing it.
Politics as usual from the Cruz campaign.
